How can I soothe/remove ant bites?

I've recently been bitten a few times on my foot after I accidentally stepped on an anthill. The bites are swollen and very sore, to the point where it hurts to put on shoes or walk around.

Does anybody know of a solution for this?

If it was the imported African Fire Ant, A.K.A. Fire Ant, you may find this strange but take a bottle of anti-perspireant/deodorant in a container that features the "Roll ON" type applicator. If the these bites were recent, like in the past few minutes to about 24 hours, apply the deodorant generously to the bites. This works for mosquito bites as well. If it was within a past few days and pusttules appear, then apply rubbing alcohol liberally a few times a day to dry out the pustules. The alcohol will not sting as long as you don't break the pustules. DON'T SCRATCH THE AREA! It can leave life-long scarring.

Sorry to say, you can't remove ant bites. You can, however, soak them for at least ten minutes in warm water with a smidgen of salt. (not to hot, & not to much salt, other wise it's going give more pain then comfort!) The salt takes care of any infections, and the warm water relaxes the muscles & nerve endings. After you're done drying off your feet, try to put on cream like Calomine (sp?) lotion. Nothing to heavy duty though... If they are really bad, put on a couple of bandages and a good pair of socks. Try not to wear tight shoes. Just keep those feet relaxed & comfy... Best of luck to you.

Soak your foot in hot, soapy water. There are some over the counter creams you can put on the bites to relive the pain. Otherwise, you are just going to have to wait it out. I hate ant bites. The stupid fire ants bit me a couple of weeks ago. Miserable, miserable creatures...

The pink caladryl is usually a good topic treatment for any insect bite. Neosporin also comes with a pain releiver (very mild), if you are worried about infection, use the neosporin.

Natural aloe vera is good, but I have found that the manufactured varieties irritate my skin (I have very sensitive skin). Cutting an aloe vera plant directly works if you have one handy. Grow your own - they are desert plants that do not need much water.

    Good luck!

Make a paste of baking soda in water and let it dry on the place of the bite. That works for mosauito bites, maybe it will work for the ants as well.

    Tea Tree Oil. Instant gratification.

Soak your foot in HOT (almost to the point of scalding) epsom salt water. It works, I promise! And it is such a relief for the itching and soreness.
