Muslims - Why do you say 'Allah' when you speak English?

The Quran is written in Arabic.

Allah is Arabic for God.

We are to recite the Quran while praying.

what does God mean? it really has little effect and meaning because everyone sees it differently. however Allah means the creator of all things past, present, and future, who has no children, partners, or defects. the way the letters r arranged in arabic has a huge meaning. i was watching a show explaining this. im not a scholar so i cant explain it perfectly. but it is absolutely beautiful and amazing. Jesus (peace be upon him),who didnt speak arabic, said Allah also. i dont know the langauge Jesus(pbuh) spoke but they also said Allah (i think armenic, sorry if its wrong) Allah is a universal term that unites Muslims. if i said God would u know what religion i practiced? but Allah is a clear indication. Islam is about clearity, thats part of the reason why women cover their heads. it shows that they r Muslims. it's also like the word salaam which means peace and is used to greet ppl. i can instantly know that i am speaking to a muslim or atleast a respectful, informed person when i hear salaam.

Allah is the unique proper name of God which is specific for the one and only true God. A stone or the sun may be the God or Gods of some people but they can't be called Allah. There is no equivalent in English for the word Allah.

The only time allah is passed off as the TRUE GOD is when it is expedient - so the Western Media continue with that confusion.

Islam is well aware they do not worship the same GOD as The Jews and the True Christians!

I am not Muslim, but I don't see why anyone should feel the need to change an integral part of their religion to please anyone else.

I am a Baha'i, and in some of our greetings we say "Allah" but for most of the writings, which are written in English, we say "God." But this is just how things are - it is not to please someone else.

If you are Christian or any other religion, I would hope that you do not feel the need to do that, either.

Sometime we called God too. But it just that we read Quran and Islamic books which mostly called Allah instead of God so. We all worship to same God. Good question.

Because Allah is still his name, in any language. If you meet a French guy named Pierre, you don't call him Peter if he comes to the US. Also, why would we care if Christians don't like that we say God's name? We're not here to please anyone.
