But to follow your logic, Christians need not worry about continuing sinning once they are saved. It's not a question of your salvation, but of your sanctification.

Even Paul wrote "Should we go on sinning so that Grace may abound? May it never be!" We should strive to live pure lives once we are saved because we are told to do so; we are told to grow in our faith as we go about the process of being sanctified, knowing we will only be perfected once we leave this mortal coil.

Hooray, you caught them off at the pass! I'm agnostic, so I'm not going to say that, but I can't just accept any of what you said either.

I think the idea is that, if you say "Oh we go to heaven no matter what we do" a hell of a lot of the purpose of religion goes out the window: there's no clear moral structure. Now, you don't need religion in order to have morality, but it helps. Moreover, even if people don't need to be sinless in order to be saved, we can still accept certain things as being "Bad" and worth avoiding. It's just that if we don't avoid them, we don't suffer eternal punishment; it means there's not the same incentive to avoid them, but our values wouldn't change.

There are some different interpretations on that though. Like, the old sin was gone, as in "Anything you woulda gotten in trouble for for doing before is totally gone: the old laws are bunk. Now we have new ones! Hope you enjoy them!" But then again, that's not necessarily the case either...

No one is sinless, but we shouldn't think that we will be given a free ticket into heaven based upon a belief that absolves us of responsibility. I believe that God helps those who help themselves. If you try to be as sinless as possible (by being the best person you can be and for sincerely repenting to God for the sins that you have committed) He will see your efforts, your worthiness, your strength and your desire for Him to be proud of you. What better than to have the greatest of goodness and love be proud of you. Your efforts will make this world a better place. This is what a truly God loving person wants.

I don't proclaim Christianity or any religion for that matter, I am spiritual though. I do agree with your concept. Our so called "sins" are learning experiences. people have to realize that. Jesus and God, and all of Gods other messengers wanted us to learn right from wrong it is man who put the fear in the "sinning" aspect. If you think about it, if you never learned from your mistakes then you would be completely ignorant making the same mistakes over and over and over and over......................... that would be absolute hell. LOL

even if you can never become totally sinless, it is still worthwhile to work on your sins and aim to become better and better. You will become better and rid yourself of some of your sins if you try. But if you don't try, then you will not be better. You and others around you will suffer more because you didn't try. It's that simple in my opinion.

Because it goes against reason and reality.
