Does anyone know how to add a cat to my group of seven other cats? She wants to be the only pet in the house?

My seven cats, all picked up as strays, do not get along with Gracie. We have to keep Gracie in a separate locked room, and take her out only when other seven are in locked rooms. I want to have her added to our group. Gracie was hurt when young, as some boys put kerosene on her then set her on fire. She takes anti-psychotic medication, but still will attack and injure other cats if I put them all together. Help! We need that room for our family, and I don't want a cat in it, segregated forever. She feels secure in there, as it has been her home for five years.

    I don't think there is anything you can do. Some cats just cannot live happily with other cats. Its sad that she was tortured when she was young. It might be hard to give her up, but I think she deserves a happy life in a home as an only pet. Good luck.

    You have a total of 8 cats living in your home? That is pretty excessive. I think our state law is no more than 5 of one species of animal. Hopefully you don't live in Texas, if you are reported, they will come and take all of your cats and put them up for adoption, and you will be heavily fined. Regardless of what you might think, Cats are not pack animals, (like dogs). They actually prefer to be small groups. With that many, you can not possibly give each the attention and medical care they need. Please find a little old lady with a big heart and no pets to care for this mentally challenged loner cat you have. The stress and terror alone can make a cat go phyco.

    There are some breeds of cats that get super. inspite of the undeniable fact that, if kitty is having concern attending to the nutrition, properly thats distinctive. inspite of the undeniable fact that maximum will say to limit the quantity of nutrition the cat is getting which could in basic terms slow the cats metabolism much greater and not produce weight-loss. (My Chardna substitute into obese and we had to limit her to one million/2 cup of nutrition interior the morning and one million/2 cup interior the night. She won weight.) additionally, while changing nutrition. Dont substitute suddenly. this might make kitty vomit or provide up ingesting all at the same time. you are able to slowly introduce the recent nutrition. combination small quantities of recent nutrition with the previous nutrition and progressively decrease the previous nutrition on an identical time as increasing the recent nutrition. it is going to take some week to absolutely substitute over. next, get some new toys. Dont purchase them, lead them to. each and every person has a sock or 2 and not applying a mate (the dryer ate the different one) besides, fill the toe with catnip and tie the different bring about a knot. This drives kitty wild. next, lazer toys (this one must be offered) the best toy ever. My kitty will run the batteries down with one play consultation. He cant refuse it. jewelry off of milk jugs and a slick floor, Presto! Indy 500! *Ask your vet approximately all organic prescription cat nutrition. (Sounds unusual i comprehend.) Petsmart has this and it extremely is canned squirrel, rabbit, pigeon, etc. you are able to have a prescription for it or they wont sell it to you. that's meant to be the very ultimate nutrition for cats. Its a sprint costly yet properly worth it. good success.

    I hate to say this, but it sounds like Gracie would do much, much better in a home where she would be the only cat. Some are just like this and there's not really much you can do.

    Starting contacting family and friends to find her a new home. I know it's difficult to let go, but it's going to be for the better and Gracie will probably be much happier.

    When you got her did you SLOWLY introduce her to the others.

    Here are some suggestions;

    If she has a favorite toy or blanket take it , while not in use, and let the others smell it for awhile.

    When they are together have a bottle o spray water available. When she acts aggressively spray her. Cats usually do not care for water and it is not harmful.

    Hope these suggestions help directly or indirectly.

    Oh.. you have a CUTE problem.. Who is the top cat.. Yes, it happens among cats.. among dogs.. who will be the top cat.. who will be the top dog.. It is funny how they maneuver for that top position. What I can say from experience is.... it will work itself out and usually.. I say usually.. within a week it is settled. What I also do is ... with a brush, I brush one cat (leve the hair in the brush) then the other cat, the other, etc and the smell of one cat is transferred to each other... \\

    Good luck but have fun while watching !!!

    why did you want another cat anyways? wasn't seven enough for you? I dunno, I didn't have that problem when I brought my 5 month male kitty home to meet my 2 year old female cat. they warmed up to each other in just a few short days. now, they have kind of like a mother and son bond between them. they clean each other, lay with each other, etc. my advice to you, you didn't need that new cat. if she has been locked up for five years in your home away from everybody then that's cruelty to me. confining her to one room because she doesn't get along with your other cats. lady, I suggest that you give her away to someone who doesn't have any cats and will let her run and play all through their home with no worries. she needs exercise and she's definatly not getting it at your place. you're one cruel individual!!!!! haven't you realized that just maybe she can't live with other cats, that she needs to live in a one cat home. she's not mental, but you may be!!!!!!!! GIVE HER UP!!!!!!!

    If you live in a incorporated area check with your city before getting any more cats. Some places have a limit on how many you can have on your property.

    In the first place you should not have brought a new cat into your home. I would talk to a pet specialist.
