Why after a few hundred years of being brewed is Stella Artois all the rage now?
Don't get me wrong, I like the stuff and its easy to drink, but its weird that all of a sudden it seems to be the beer of choice everywhere.

A few years ago, there was a merger between AmBev and InterBrew. This kind of pushed Stella into a bigger distribution network. It's inoffensive taste can make it a big seller in the bars. That's my take on it.

A combination of the Answers from Luckbeetle, tulipkiller 1, and dogglebe (there was a comprehensive article about this in "The Wall Street Journal").
Except that Stella tastes a helova lot better than Budweiser (especially on draft in Europe).

most of the people who drink the stuff just want to be cool, i've been drinking it for years because i like it...it will go away shortly and be replaced by some new cool beer perhaps Brahma from Brazil....bottle is shaped like a woman...easy to hold

probably a combination of business/ownership & distribution changes and the fact that peoples tastes generally evolve (vs. regress).

Cause my favorite band INTERPOL prefers that one, and they are so cool, that the thing just expanded. New York's best.
