It is selfish to want a kitten, just take care of the cat you already have. And what about what happens when you go to college, etc? Cats can live up to 15 years, and I guarantee you can't be taking this new kitten with you into the dorms. Your parents are the ones who are going to have to keep it then. Why the heck would you want to bring in an animal that is not wanted by half the people who live in your house?

Also, remember a kitten is only a kitten for so long. Several months vs the extra 14 years of their lives. Take care of your 5 year old cat.

Beg and plead, and say you want to start over. I lost my kitty to an illness back in February, killed me, I cried to my dad, "I want another cat!" and he laughed at me, BUT he promised I could get one, only after we came home from vacay. Beg and PLEAD! And show them that you can take care of the one you have, and show them that you are able to take care of another kitten. Or give them hints.

I would make a list of reasons why I want the kitten and what I would do to get one. If they don't let you have one, go on a hunger strike. No, im kidding, dont do that.
