Why don't the people who.....?
...ask questions and get answers, be good enough to choose a 'Best answer'. If people are good enough to try and help, surely they deserve their reward. I've got loads of answers among 'Unresolved' which will eventually go to the voters, and they don't usally bother either, since it wasn't their question in the first place.

I agree. especially as leaving the question unresolved loses them 3 points. OK so 3 points is no big deal but it is annoying that they dont bother to finish the job after people take time to give them answers.
I hope you wont leave this unresolved!!!! ;) lol

Most wouldn't know a best answer if it jumped up and bit'em on the bum. They are looking for someone to endorse what their feelings are on the subject. I also have seen this many times. As for the people that let it go to vote, I think the majority just don't care about their question, they just ask it to ask it, I also see this alot, mostly stupid questions. I actually have become a bit cynical about answers, I answer some questions seriously if I think that the question is serious, but I'm beginning to answer with jokes or equally stupid answers to stupid questions. It's just something to pass the time now. I always choose a best answer if I ask a question though, It would be rude not to.

Good point. Since few people actually look in the unresolved questions section, unless people remember that they have to choose a best answer to their question, then the points go to waste.
Is it possible to vote yourself as best answer, I wonder?

I agree with you..I also try and vote on about 50 to 75 of those unanswered questions a day. Many people just come on here to find an answer to one problem then don't bother to come back to vote best answer.
- How do you think about the answers? You can sign in to vote the answer.

I wonder about that too. Perhaps the askers just don't like any of the answers or just don't care one way or the other. A small percentage might go to voters because the asker signs out and never comes back on for a few weeks, who knows...
Let's see if the asker on THIS questions picks a bet answer...pick me me me me me me me me me... beg beg beg beg beg... grovel grovel grovel.

I have left it up to voters before when it was an open ended question, but I usually do go back and vote then

I can't understand it either. Maybe they hope it won't get any votes because your 5 points are retuned to you then.

i think everyone who poses a question should pick best answer. I'm with you on that one.

You're just pissed off that you didn't get best answer again.
What do you think the points are for, you get to use them to buy stuff with or something?
Lighten up.
