How did you get out of your last traffic ticket?

Note: This question is not to be interpreted as an endorsement of disobeying traffic laws!!

Update:

I'm not looking for advice - I've never gotten one. Just making conversation. I did get out of getting one once.

My father was a cop and he told me some simple ways to avoid getting a ticket. Here they are and I will keep it simple so everyone can do it:

    1) Pull way over so the poor guy doesn't feel like he is going to get run over by being on the edge of traffic.

    2) Be polite, you are not being singled out. If you weren't doing anything wrong, you wouldn't of been pulled over. Don't sass the cop. Treat him with respect and use rank and name or call him Officer or Trooper.

    3) Don't deny you were doing something wrong. See #2. If you deny you were doing something wrong it is akin to calling him a liar

    4) Have your drivers license, insurance information, and registration ready when you are approached.

    5) Keep your hands in full view of the officer

    6) At night turn on your inside cab light so he doesn't feel a threat of possible attack.

    7) Keep him talking as long as you can while not abusing him or denying you are wrong.

    8) Use your manners! Show respect and dignity for law enforcement. Remember it is their turf and you are on it, the officer has the power and you need gentle application of it.

    9) Smile

    10) Thank him for letting you off!

I didn't. It was my first one, but it was for an accident. So I couldn't get away with not being written up. I hired Traffic Tickets Link and once I get my summons from the court, they will go and fight the ticket for me to get my fine reduced and hopefully I won't get any points on my license. But, it's taknig forever! 5 months so far. But apparently, the longer it takes the system to get to you the better because those involved are less likely to show up to court.

Be Friendly and let the cop do there job. Don't have an attitude. And put your keys on the dash when you pull over. That's how i get out of tickets.

I have been pulled over about 10 times and all i ever got was one fix it tickefor a brokn headlight. I have even been pulled over twice in a 10 minute period before with no tickets issued.

I've been pulled over with no license, reg, or insurance, i've been pulled over with old tags, i've been pulled over reeking of weed, for my loud *** muffler, for speeding.

On October 7 1984 I have been given a value tag for turning precise on crimson, while it substitute into marked "no turn on crimson" The cop did a stable element, i substitute into in a school zone. It substitute into night time, there have been no young ones around, yet I on no account grew to become precise on crimson at that corner lower back.

I went to court to fight it and the citing officer didn't show up so it was dismissed. The funny thing was, I overslept and was considering just paying it but then jumped out of bed and raced down the courthouse.

Went to court, got it reduced to a minor violation and paid the $115. The court wants money, it doesn't want to have me pay higher insurance or anything.

My last ticket was for driving with a headlight out and I had a new headlight in the car with me, so the policeman didn't give me the ticket.

i paid it....it was for illegal tint....but the one before (routine traffice check) was for driving while suspended for non pay of child support....they (the state) suspended the wrong persons license!....i went to the judges office and he reversed it and waived the citation

nevermind the fact that it took half a days pay from me for missing work to fix it (govt offices open weekdays only)
