We've had severe snowstorms this year, very unusual for my city, and it's become an issue at work. Many lower-level staffers chose to leave when the roads started getting bad, and now the higher-ups are complaining that no one was here to cover things.

If you work, especially in an office, how do your bosses handle it? Do they let you leave when it's getting bad outside? Do they pay you for the time at all? How do you deal with it?

I know laws vary, but is it generally understood that the landlord of a property is supposed to keep your walkway clear and safe?

Seems too good to be true...free music and movie downloads for my iPod? Is there a catch? If it's not legal, why is it so popular, recommended, and not shut down yet?

I want to get a movie for my iPod that iTunes does not offer in its store. Should I use limewire for this? Will the free basic version allow me to download a movie?

Here's my question:

How on earth did this happen? Jesus is the Prince of Peace, according to the Bible...why do many Christian groups and individuals see the promotion of peace as an anti-God movement? Why is protesting the general act of war interpreted as anti-Christian?

This is a real question...I'm not Christian-bashing - I am one! I just want to hear some insights as to how this sentiment evolved.

Is this an effective means of getting businesses to support fundamentalist Christian causes, or a largely futile effort that turns off nonbelievers?

Same question goes for forwarding boycott notices/requests or complaints about businesses that...fill in the blank: don't say Christmas, offer benefits to gay partners, etc.

I'm not sure when they started measuring the approval rating, but is there a way of knowing who had the lowest, since they started measuring it?

Obviously God knows our weaknesses and that we are sinners, according to the Bible. Do you think He trusts us? If so, why? Specifically, why would God trust people to spread His message from a tiny corner of the Middle East 2000 years ago, to every human being on every continent?

Does it upset you at all that God would trust some other person with your eternal suffering? That you might have spent eternity in hell if someone had made a different decision, like not to witness to you?

This is a real question, I'm not trying to attack anyone - just struggling with my beliefs and want to know how others work this out, if they do.

I moved into a new house with a very noisy heater. The noises are "normal," that is, I don't think anything is wrong with it, it just clicks a lot, and it always wakes me up.

I can't put in ear plugs because I can't hear my alarm clock in the morning.
