Has anyone out there lost alot of hair daily and then eye lashes too?

For a little over a month, hair has been falling out (from the roots) and leaving near to bare spots and thining everywhere. I'm female so you can imagine how horrified I am. Then today i glanced at the mirror and saw a clump of tiny hairs on my cheek. I realized they were my eyelashes and just about lost it. About 1/3 of an inch on one eye and a 1/4 or so on the other eyelid were bare.

I know its not medicine, that's been ruled out. I really need to know if anyone out there has known someone with the same problem and what the cause may have been.

Please help.

have you lost a lot of weight lately? or been stressed? whenever i diet and lose weight, a lot in a short amount of time, that happens to me.

good luck, I would say that if it doesnt get better in a few weeks talk to your doc, you might be lacking the B12 like the other poster said

I would make another appointment with an endocrinologist to get tested for a possible thyroid condition. Sounds like hypothyroidism. Check on Web MD because they have all the symptoms listed there. It includes hair loss, excessive dry skin etc.

I have the same problem and was found to have a B12 deficiency. I now take B12 shots daily. It has improved dramatically. I still have hair loss but not to the point of baldness anymore.

    You better consult dermatologist.

but it is usual that your hair start falling after few month or years, for few weeks, to month...after that when renewal of new hairs takes place, it stops falling down.

otherwise u might have fungal infection or so....u may have seboric dermatitis..or whats most important u may have a stress..or have taken antibiotics or soooo.......

so many reasons.......better ask and get yourself checked by dermatologist.

it might be alopecia, but mom lost her eye lashes after she had an illness with high fever, you really should see a doctor.
