Bridesmaid dress help?

I am getting married on June 23rd and I have to get my girls to order their dresses ASAP but I am having a hard time picking something out. My colors are pink and brown. I really want the dresses to be pink but I want something modern and not so traditional. I don't want anybody to look different either.

This is my dress http://www.allurebridals.com/dresses/full/8264F.jp...

And this is one of the dresses that I am considering for my bridesmaids http://www.jimhjelmoccasions.com/dress_db_occ/disp...

It incorporates both of my colors and its classy and modern and it compliments my dress so well. But now my predicament is the fact that my groomsmen will be in black tuxedos. They will be wearing light pink vests and ties also. I am having a hard time deciding if the brown on the dress will clash with the black tuxedos. I know that brown and black do not go together so I don't know what to do. So tell me what you think of the two colors against each other?

I would quit stressin over the details so much, you are gonna give your self a nervous break-down. :) I answered your last question about this, and I'm glad you went with the dresses you picked. They will be very useful to the girls later on.....I say if you can find brown tuxes go with that as a first option, but if not or they look to 70's or something, or just let it go...people will understand and tuxes are just kind of a neutral thing anyway....the bridesmaids and you are where the color scheme and theme of the wedding comes in, the tuxes are minor in comparison. Those dresses are so cute that thats what folks will be focusing on...in this case a groomsman will just be an accessory! lol! Take it from me, I'm 2 months away from my wedding, that grew to about twice as big as we originaly planned.....and I can not take it anymore, somethings are not worth the stress and you just gotta go with what you have on a lot of things and as long as you have the main things you want to set the overall theme of the wedding, thats what people will remember and its whats really important! GOOD LUCK!

First of all, congratulations! Now, about the dresses. I think you've made a beautiful choice... I wouldn't worry about the black of the tuxedos. The black is sort of a given and it's a neutral in this situation. Remember, weddings are about the girls. :) Old fashioned, I know, but I think it's still true. I don't think the dresses and tuxes will clash or look odd. It would be odd to see men in a strange color tux! I say go for the dress you've picked out. You don't want to wait any longer to get those orders done. Good luck!

Don't worry about brown and black! Tuxes are meant to be black and everyone knows this! Besides, your wedding dress and the bridesmaids dresses are absolutely beautiful! The only one who will notice the brown/black "clash" is you and that's only because you're worried about it. The guests will be very impressed with this bold color scheme. One of the guests won't pop up and go "oh my goodness! Black and brown don't match! How tacky!" during the ceremony, even though I'm sure you can picture the crazy aunt doing just this. The mens' pink ties and the pink in the ladies' dresses will match perfectly.

I think that those dresses are very beautiful. Since your wedding is modern and non-traditional, its more of a 'traditional rule' that black and brown clash. Nowadays, if you have a cute black purse and cute brown shoes, you can wear them together. This is just taking it to the next step. Just because the boys will be in black, the girls will still look beautiful in those dresses and if you like them, I say go for it. It's better than compromising what you want for your special day then finding something that you don't love as much as those dresses just because a long time ago someone said that black and brown don't match! Good luck and congrats!

Those dresses are beautiful! They are elegant and I think will compliment your colors well. If I could make a suggestion for the men, I would say to have them wear dark brown suits as opposed to tuxedos. The wearing of tuxedos is nice, but dated. We are seeing more and more suits in weddings these days. Not only would the color work well with the dresses (You could have the men wear a nice necktie with pink shades) but it will be practical. Just as brides often try to choose dresses that their attendants can wear later, a suit would do that for the men. Purchasing a nice suit is never a waste, as it would always be in style and can be worn for wedding, Church, etc. Renting a tux can often cost almost as much and they wear it only the one time. Whatever you choose, just remember that the choice is yours and whatever you want is all that matters. I know it will be beautiful! Good luck!

I love the bridesmaid dresses, I just hope your ladies are on the thin side so it looks good on them as well. As for the clashing, it wont be a problem at all. The brown is pretty dark and they will be standing on opposite sides anyways. Also if you are worried about pictures black and white pics will look great! For the lady who said to have the men wear dark brown I'm on the fence about that. The brown would have to be a good brown or it will look old and retro. Well Good Luck and congrats

    Love your dress.

    Love the bridesmaid's dresses.

Please keep the guys in black though. It won't clash... and it will make the guys look very classy. (just think of all the dresses and tuxes at any awards show)

But, just my opinion... instead of pink tie and vest (tough for some guys to pull off) how about just a pink cummerbund? Or, forget even that and go with a pink boutonniere.

    good luck.

Her is a very high suggestion. Either change the tuxes to Brown to match the exact color of the dresses, or change your colors to pink and black. You did pick out a very cute dress for the maids. I hope that my girlfriend has as good of taste as you do when we get married. NO, I haven't asked her yet.

Both dresses are very nice! I love them. I am a wedding photographer, and actually I have photographed brown dresses in the fall with black tuxes......it doesn't look as bad as you think, actually they turned out fine. The pink in your dresses will take some of the darkness out of the brown. Go with what you have chosen.
