Diet and fitness work together toward a healthy lifestyle. Changing your diet and your level of fitness is what can change the way you look and feel. The best way to lose weight is about living a healthier life than what you may be living now. You will need a complete lifestyle change and you will need to be committed. The body loses about 2 pounds a week optimally and that’s 2 pounds that stay off. When you drop at a faster rate your body could potentially rebound and either plateau your weight loss or put extra weight on. If you are committed then you should reach your goal.
Weight gain is dependent on a person's energy intake being greater than energy expenditure. One pound (0.45 kg) is equal to 3,500 calories. Therefore, a person consuming 500 calories more than he or she expends daily will gain 1 lb a week.
TIPS
A sensible diet and some exercise, has shown to be the most effective thing to do.
A key point is not to eat too much junk food and to ensure you get the basic nutrition your body needs. You should eat at least two portions of fruit and vegetables each day. We would highly recommend supplementing your diet with super foods.
Physical activity is a necessary component of every weight loss plan.
Eat three meals a day at about the same time each day sitting at a table.
Eat slowly.
Avoid distractions such as television or magazines.
Cook smaller amounts; use smaller plates.
Avoid second helpings.
Scrape plates directly into the garbage.
By following the steps above you can not only rid yourself of the known dangers of being obese, but also you can increase your energy levels and feel better.
1. Eat more. Yes eat more. More meals that is. It is best to eat a small meal every 3-4 hours. The meal should be just large enough to where you are not hungry, as opposed to eating you are full. There is a difference, think of it as no bigger than the size of your two fists put together. Eating 1 or 2 meals a day slows your metabolism down. You should have at least 4-6 meals a day. For most a ratio of carbs-proteins-fats should be 50%-25%-25% is good, but each person is unique.
2. Drink more water. Most of us don’t have enough water. This means our bodies are dehydrated. Two things a dehydrated body has trouble doing, one is releasing water. In order to lose fat you must be able to release water, because fat cells in your body are composed of mostly water. A dehydrated body cannot build very well. Muscle tone indicates a constant building state in your body. If your body isn’t building that means it is losing muscle and it’s never good to lose muscle that slows your metabolism and makes you look flabby.
3. Maintain a balanced workout regimen of cardio and resistance (weights). Cardio is good for fat burning and it’s easy to do and to progress yourself. Resistance is a little harder because it’s not as easy to know what to do. If weights aren’t your thing then try Yoga or Pilates. Both are very effective resistance and core training and can help you maintain lean muscle and increase your overall metabolism.
4. Smart supplementation of your diet is your best solution to making sure you get the nutrients your food doesn’t give you. A daily multivitamin will suffice in most cases, and if you don’t like pills they sell it in liquid form. Plus cleanses, as well as detox formulas are awesome for eliminating toxins we take into our bodies without knowing.
5. Sleep is a very important part of any healthy lifestyle regimen. When we sleep our bodies and minds refresh themselves and allow us to function at an optimal level. Sleeping allows muscles to rebuild themselves and when they do that, it speeds your metabolism.
You may ask why I gave you this long list instead of just telling you what exercises to do. The reason is if you think that exercising is all you need then you are mislead. If exercising is all we needed to look and feel great then everybody who works out at the gym would have great bodies and be healthy. If you have been to a gym before you know its not true.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

I really liked Walk Away the Pounds when I used it. It helped alot. I lost like 30lbs. Unfortunately for me, I didn't stick to it, but if you can, I'm sure it can help.
Try to exercise at least 5 out of 7 days. Try to eat very healthy. Limit portions. If you want a sweet, eat one, just don't eat a whole box. Continue with your 8 glasses of water a day. (You sound just like I did)
1-2lbs a week is the healthiest!! So ideally 100 lbs would be great, but try to make smaller goals for yourself, otherwise it mite seem overwhelming.
Also, there is a food calculater online that I loved!! Its called fitday....
Go to www.fitday.com and if you sign up it can help you see the food you've been taking in, against, the exercise you do.
GOOD LUCK!!

Eat nourishing food with plenty of fresh fruits and vegetables being part of it. Chew each morsel at least 32 times. This will activate signal to the brain as soon as u have had enough. Besides this change in eating style, take regular light exercises and brisk walks every day. U will be able to gain/shed all extra weight gracefully and in a reasonable time span. No food or drink in between the food and not more than three meals a day, unless u r diabetic.

I will try to keep it simple. Your metabolism is basically the rate at which your body burns calories to create energy. So the faster your metabolism, the faster you burn calories and the easier it is to lose unwanted weight. To boost your metabolism naturally you just need to eat the right foods.
You can sit down and literally eat a 1,000-calorie dinner and yet be absolutely starving just a few hours later and the reason is simple: Because your body didnt get what it needed in those 1,000 calories so it sends signals to your brain telling you to ingest more calories and thus, the late-night cravings. That means that the surest way to end those late-night cravings and keep your weight loss goals on track is to eat a more balanced, nutritious diet that actually gives your body what it needs.
It's VERY EASY to lose weight if you eat the right foods. Check out Dr. Charles Livingston's video here: http://www.sexyjese.com/ - it will blow your mind.

well since you like walking, I suggest getting a dog [not a puppy] (best workout partner, ever) and walking atleast 1-2 hours a day to begin with. Then after you lose 10 pounds start jogging, ect. I suggest lifting weights too. If your craving food, eat an apple. you'll start to notice little changes soon
Good luck =D

Good carbs like celery and carrots will never make you fat. Bad carbs like cake will, but you don't need to know the whole science of glycemic load. You need to re-learn how to eat so you can become thin and healthy. Find out about fastest way to lose weight, most effective exercise, good and bad fats, water retention and secret trick used by models to flatten their tummy before an event.
Reading a book will take you hours but the information on a post, taking minutes to read, is not enough. The webpage below has just enough to know what you need to know. Links page has gov. BMI calculater to find out just how much overweight you are (teens plug in your age to compare to others your age). Learn the science of how to nourish your body thin, instead of starving your body fat.

theres no short cut or anything, you just need to make sure that you cut down on stuff thats bad for you, and stick with it.
i lost about 78 lbs one year, and it was really because i wasnt feeling good on a daily basis. i just made sure to buy food with very low grams of fat (trans fats and saturated fats are the worst), and low calories. i ate lots of fruit, lots of skinless chicken breast, lots of grilled stuff, not fried.
i walked a lot, and i did stretches a lot, followed by situps and pushups, and i just tried to be active, playing sports with friends and stuff. really, one of the best things was going out and playing with the new puppy. it made me feel good and want to play, and i didnt notice how much time i was doing it, unlike the gym, which makes me so aware of everything. not comfortable for me.
good luck, and just stick with it. remember that just because you go out and eat chinese food once in a while, or have a snickers bar, you're not giving up. you just pick up and go, "ok, shouldnt have done that... lets keep it on track".
its like a test. just because you know you cant get an answer, you dont give up on the whole test, you just keep going.

Try this.. .its a simple 3 step project....
1. Committment. Never give up. Never give up... never give up. You will not fail. You will not fail.... you will not fail.
2. Shut your mouth. You don't need to eat all that crap. And its mostly crap isn't it? Its not so much what you eat.. its how much.
3. Get off your butt. You must exercise. Bottom Line: you must burn more calories than you take in.
See my pic over there? Its my "I lost 80 pounds" grin.
Good luck!
