Why isn't there mouse-flavored cat food?

How about lizard or bird flavored?? Okay let's admit it. Dog and cat food are designed to make the food sound good to the people who are buying the food not to the pets. So mouse or bird flavored food would gross out those of us who go to the store to buy the stuff don't you think?

The cat foods are designed to appeal to the humans buying it for the cat. People tend to buy their cat food that sounds appealing to them...so not sure people would want to buy mouse or rat flavored food, and people would be freaked out about touching mouse or rat meat.

Actually, cats do not eat mice.... they just play with them until they are dead and then they give the dead mouse to someone as a gift.

That's a good question. I've often wondered that myself. Hey, meat is meat. I bet it would be a lot healthier than than most cat foods that use "bi products."

I read a few years ago that Japan was making a cat food out of possums.

Hmm so they would either have to cut up mice, or have some people figure out what mice taste like then fake it. Either way I think they'll stick with chicken!

I think cats actually prefer to play with mice, not eat them.

The mice end up dead, but thats only because they have been played with to death. I'm not sure that the cat eats them.

Well the people who make food has to try it out to see if it actually taste like what its supposed to ..I dont think any one wants to eat a mouse to find out what it taste like in order to make a mouse flavored remidy :D ....Oh and this was supposed to be funny it is in no way true :P

how do people that make the cat food even know what it tastes like. cats will eat wwhat ev. if they have to, for all we know chicken flav. cat food might taste like toilets and vice versu.

you could always get snake food from the pet shop and cook some up you might even be able to start selling it lol good luck
