Why do you think that there is someone from Yahoo reading these questions and answers?
And having read them dishing out violation notices? Have you done the math? It would take thousands of staff working for thousands of hours. The violation system is automatic after an abuse report is made. (That little flag thingy) Occasionally a mediator may look by but not often. Comment please.

I completely support your view that the violations are automated. If you look at the volume of questions asked and the volume of violations then you would have to assume that they would have to hire a lot of people to just keep up. Since there are no advertisements in here, Yahoo is not making much money off of Answers. It would not be a good business move to have hundreds of people working to make sure there are no people violating the rules. One hundred people at $30,000 is 3 million dollars a year. The smart thing to do is to develop a system with automated violation handling and rely on the users to self police. Of course, this system is not perfect and does lend itself to abuse.

Yahoo does not hand out the violation's, it's us Joe Public if you will, who police this site, if someone swears and another person doesn't like swearing they click the little flag. Automatically you are sent an email for whatever reason that person picks on the drop down box. Having said that there are some petty minded people who just don't like what you say so they click on the flag, even if your answer is the correct one. It's akin to being back in the infants playground, when all's said and done there are more important things going on in the World today.

doubt it.
100's of questions with each about 30 ans. Course the violation thing is just when people report the item, the report doesn't even have to make sense. Its happened to me too many times.

that's certainly very frightening, and that i replaced into in simple terms thinking of that until now at present. i'm almost afraid to maintain asking ?s as a results of fact there are maximum of records and you could bypass months back, and if somebody have been to start analyzing and analyzing into the records- they only could discover extra advantageous than what they even knew related to the guy asking those ?s that's frightening

I think it is just an automated response every time someone reports abuse, I get violations for no reason I can think of.

i, personally, think it is a good idea. there are just some things that i find offensive. there are some extremely verbally abusive people that i just do not think should be able to participate in any kind of public forum. happy day:)
