Question for all Atheists?

When you look in the mirror and say 'there is no god'; do you feel like you are lying to yourself or are not totally "convinced" of what you are saying?

I only say that I find no evidence of anything that makes sense to me to call God to Christians who insist on telling me otherwise.

If I felt like I was lying to myself, why would I continue to do so? I value honesty far too highly for that.

Which is why I left the church.

Why would someone look in the mirror and say "There's no God". That's creepy. I doubt any Atheists entertains the thought that they're lying to themselves. Do you think you're lying to yourself? Do you question what you believe when you look in the mirror? Why would they be any different. They're people just like you except they don't happen to believe in a higher power. That's it. They're not lost lonely souls any more than a person who has religion. They just don't believe in God. That doesn't make or break you and it doesn't cause you to look longingly into a mirror and ask yourself questions.

That's like you sitting in front of a mirror and saying "There's no Santa" and questioning it and thinking you're lying to yourself. You wouldn't because (hopefully) you don't think Santa is real. I don't know, maybe you do. Either way, who cares what another person believe in. At the end of the day, it doesn't affect you.

Well, I can just say I used to be athiest for a long time, and yes I felt like I was lying. But I found a form of religion that believes the entity which creates all is simply fate and faith itself and that we have no control over it, but it is a force that exists like a g-d does; i.e. without proof. But if you feel like you're lying to yourself, maybe you should explore other religions, and if you find at the end that G-d doesn't exist, you just made sure.

I am totally convinced. So if i was to look into a mirror and say 'there is no god' i feel just the same as if i had said 'Gravity holds me to this earth'

Simply because lots of different people have different interpretations of the word God and interpret the concept behind the word completely different from other people around them, it's not easy to answer this. But I can safely say that there is no Christian God for me, which is what most people tend to refer to when they are speaking about God.

I do have my own God, but I really don't call it that way, I rather use the word "universe" and "energy" instead of "god"

There are ni gods, only MY god!?

Hi, my name joshua kane, i am not jesus, jesus was just this kid that used to follow me around, back in the good old days - he would listen to my speeches and serve food, drink my wine and sometimes he would go for long walks to contemplate his belly button! Well, i am here to tell you about the TRONGOD, and the gospel of zerokane.THATS WHAT I WAS HERE FOR IN THE BEGINNING, but that pesky jesus, kept on bothering me. Mind you i reckon i got off lightly, you know what happened to jesus, although I was surprised that Judas grassed him up. they were lovers you know! Must have had an argument! It disturbs me a great deal that i have been forgotten, jesus that 'scamp', stole my ideas and ideals and passed them off as his own, obviously he changed a lot of my texts, facts and history, due to copyright reasons, but my disciples certainly were a little fickle, as soon as Jesus gave all that fish and bread , they were off, followed him around all day every day, 24 - 7, i think i had a lucky escape. Anyway, as i was saying, my god, my gospel is the true word! It must be true because I wrote it all in a book, but i found out recently that the 'vatican' are witholding it from publication, something about truth, reality, demise of the church and all that! Well, i'm back now, so they better be ready to apologise, give me back my book and do something about that whole 'jesus' thing. My dad says hello, and my mum is busy doing some blessings, dad isin the garden trying to make a better earth , the first one he made has really got disease infected. See you at EASTER!

Speaking for myself, I believe that there is no human figure of God. When I pray (sometimes when I'm too happy or too sad) I say, oh God, I'm glad / upset. But actually I am feeling like talking to myself or some "superior power". But in my opinion God is definitely not a human who has formed the earth and each living subject with his own hands. I believe in a superior power. but not in God

I don't spend a lot of time looking into mirrors taking to myself.

I think the scene out of Taxi Driver where Robert Di Nero does that is great though. It definitely brings out the psycho part of his character, Travis Bickle.

When you look in the mirror and say 'there is a god', does God answer by saying "You are the fairest one of all" from your reflection?
