Does anyone recognise this film?

Question

My dad keeps on about a film he saw on late night tv some years ago. He never saw the whole thing but kept meaning to, he doesn't know the title or who was in it.

What little he remembers of it is that the main character is trapped in a hut surrounded by zombies. His arm turns on him and tries to attack him so he puts it in a vice and chops it off. In it's place he sticks a chainsaw which he then uses to fight zombies.

Apparently a vortex then opens up and the guy falls into it. The next scene is medievil England and some knights are not doing a great job at fighting a dragon. The sky opens up and the guy drops through it. He kills the dragon with his chainsaw.

I am keeping my fingers tightly crossed that someone out there knows the answer to this so my father will finally stop going on about it!!

That sounds like Evil Dead 2 or Army of Darkness (Evil Dead 3). Evil Dead 1 was a horror movie, the latter 2 were comedies.

Ok..The movie are The Evil Dead series..the actor was Bruce Campbell and they are cult classics. The movies in order are Evil Dead, Evil Dead 2 and Army or Darkness..They all star Bruce Campbell as Ash. Tell him to check out Army of Darkness if he liked that movie. It was the last one in the Evil Dead series.

it's called ARMY OF DARKNESS!!  

one of the best movies ever made.  

it's part of the evil dead trilogy.  it's the final installment.  

evil dead was kind of boring if you ask me.  not too much to it, but army of darkness is awesome.
