Okay, Christians....so why do you wear a cross?
I dont, but I would if I owned one. I have yet to replace the one I lost a few months ago.
So, with all the questions about it latley, lets clear the air, why DO you wear a cross, and do you think it is strange in anyway, being that it is a symbol of the implement that lead to Christs death?
My simple answer to my own question is:
For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.1 Corinthians 1:18 (NIV)
Makes me want to run out and buy a new one!

Galatians 6:14
But God forbid that I should boast except in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world.

The Cross symbolizes faith in Jesus Christ, the same as the star of David represents Faith in Judaism. I do not wear a cross but it is totally understandable why people do. The cross is not a symbol of a tragedy but of the love of Christ who overcame sin and death for his people, it is a sign of victory!

The cross symbolizes the power of the resurrection. Jesus in not on the cross. Why? Cause death couldn't keep it's hold on Him. Just like Peter said in the Acts.

I wear a cross because it is an easily recognizable symbol for what degradation Jesus suffered in my stead.
That and I could never figure out how to wear a really large stone like the one that was rolled away from His tomb.
Edit: What Schneb said is kind of what I am getting at.

>So Is it alright to placed on a bypass if i'm no longer a christian? certainly, and if it is offensive to your mom and father, all the extra appropriate. Their thoughts should not be seen, so be beneficial to placed on the bypass in front of them each and every risk you have. How dare they be Hindu, and not prefer you to flaunt a Christian image. Your rights are the only ones that count and you do no longer could properly known their thoughts.

If that passage if scripture makes u think u need to WEAR a cross then u need some type of pastoral counseling to make sure u are reading the bible in its proper context.

there is nothing special about wearing a cross. i don't ---because i don't like jewelry. the power of God isn't in a little metallic pc of jewelry called a "cross"...it is visible in the act of God to raise Jesus from the dead. Jesus gave Himself to die on a cross, so that God's power could be made visible through His resurrection. Jesus resurrection proved that God accepted his "sacrifice" of his own body for all of mankind, that includes you and me. Jesus gave us instruction on what we need to do so that God will "raise" us when we die - just as God did with Jesus....He said in John 12"If you trust me, you are trusting not only me, but also God who sent me." He also said "I have come as a light to shine in this dark world, so that all who put their trust in me will no longer remain in the dark." If thats not enough - he said in John 14 "Don’t let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God, and trust also in me."
theres many more examples in the bible. i urge you to look for yourself. i mean, you did come here and ask a question you thought you knew. just think of what you'll know when you look for yourself. cheers! :o)

I wear the cross in my life. Everyone where's a cross as jewelry, but hardly anyone wears it in their heart.
If someone knew how to make jewelry, I would have them make me an empty tomb. :)
