Since King James over-saw the translation of his version of the bible...?
making sure that all translations fell within the laws of his kingdom... Does that make him God? Or did he think he was God-like?

Yeah, the KJV was very political. There are more recent (and more readable) and accurate translations of the Bible available.

King James requested the translation of the Bible, he did not "insert" his political views into the translatioin. The KJV was translated from text that has proven MORE accurate than the text that was used for all modern translations such as the NIV, ASV etc. Those that support the newer versions will tell you than the manuscript that were used for those versions is older than those used for the KJV and that is in part true, BUT just because they are older does not mean they are more reliable. In fact, some of the manuscripts used for the newer versions of the Bible were actually found in a trashcan.
For more information on the versions, see the source below.

King James just dictated that if a bible was translated in english vs latin, the translator wouldn't be tortured to death.
He was liberal in that regard, and it really ticked off many Romans. The actual translation didn't change because of his dependent beliefs.
That happened hundreds of years earlier, when the Roman Church decided to cannonize certain books that highlighted certain doctrines.

HI
King James omitted God's name Jehovah and the bible does have warning not to change it so maybe he did think he was god-like because he deified God by doing this. The name Jehovah appears in the bible about 7,000 times but he only put it in three I believe Psalms 83:18 is one of them

King James was only doing the will of GOD as were the men who actually put the bible together. the king may or may not have had the bible made for good reasons, but it doesnt matter...GOD was the one in control of that event...not the king. just as HE was in control of what went into it and what did not. GOD is greater than man, it doesnt matter what man thinks he will say or do, he cant do it or say it without GODS will.

He was King back when Kings could make things happen. He was also Head of the Church of England back when they could make things happen. Of course he thought he was god like.
As far as the KJV, he did not oversee the translation, he just specified what he wanted. Essentially he wanted a bible based on Tyndale's translation but with less obvious protestant leanings.

That doesn't make him god, and we can only guess which Kings *didn't* see themselves as god-like.
It simply makes him another human in charge of a text proclaimed to be the word of the supreme deity.

it is Gods word and No man can change it ...regardless of what people may think ..because of education or history...whether they know it or not ...God promised we would have his word...nad the scriptures that show his promise is unbroken to this day...let's see....
Jeremiah 33:20-21 says...20. Thus saith the Lord; If ye can break my covenant of the day, and my covenant of the night, and that there should not be day and night in their season;
21. Then may also my covenant be broken with David my servant,...Hmmm pretty cut and dry there...If you can stop day and night from being day and ...then you can change Gods promises..
Let's see another..Ecclesiastes 3:14...14. I know that, whatsoever God doeth, it shall be for ever: nothing can be put to it, nor any thing taken from it: and God doeth it, that men should fear before him....That's pretty clear also...what God does is forever and man cannot change it..This is a almost exact verse from Revelations 22:18-19...but i will get to that
The next verse(s) come from Jesus...who says...in Matthew 5:18. For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled......yeah..that ones pretty clear to..but I will expound a little...WHY do we still exist...and why is night and day still going on...till this day??....because Gods word cannot be changed...because if man could change it and make it to be null or void...OUR VERY EXISTENCE WOULD CEASE TO EXIST....that is what this means ..before Gods cannot be fulfilled God would wipe out the existence of the creation......ok ..Jesus reiterates it in Matthew 24:34-35...ok..on to the last one(s)
Revelations 22:18-19...18. For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:
19. And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.....You know men ..were men back in the day when they wrote the bible..men of integrity..and respect..and reverance..to God...they were not men like we are nowadays...who flake out on God...They feared the Lord...and fear is not intimidation...but it is respect...for God...for good reason...they did not want to lose out with God...have their names blotted out ...and their parts taken from them...and besides...GOD is alpha and Omega beginning and end of all things...He could see from the beginning until the end that his word would be fulfilled...and if He had seen down through time that One day some man would change his word ...and create errors...I already said ..he would wipe out everything...this may sound hard ..but it is true...Gods word is error proof no contradictions...and translated the way God intended...

Actually, he just requested the translation, he let the scholars and translators of the day handle the process.

this is why most real scholars and real Christians consider the KJV to be a joke
