Removed Question?

I posted that i was logging off to play a game with my brother, and answers removed the posting as it was in violation of their guidelines, i find it particularly frustrating that they remove questions like this which was meant as a see you all soon to all the friendly answerers out there.

Why do the answers team insist on removing this question when people quite openly post abusive and racist questions on here which sometimes do not get removed? Does this annoy anyone else?

Yes, it really upsets me. I asked a sincere question to the Gay/Lesbian community and it never posted. However, questions that make Christianity look stupid are somehow ignored and allowed to go through.

Somehow protecting gay rights is more important than eliminating nasty comments aimed at Christianity.

The fact that there are worst violations on the site doesn't factor in the descision - violations are assessed in isolation. Fact of the matter is, you violated the guidelines and your question was removed. It doesn't matter if you don't like the rules, when you signed up for this account you agreed to follow them. Personally, there are lots of rules and laws that I dislike, but I still follow them.

Your question was removed as it was a violation of the 1st 'Don't' in the 'Community Guidelines: Don't "violate the question and answer format".

When posting a question, you must ensure that it contains a valid question.

Questions get removed for two reasons:

~Firstly, because someone reported one the questions and it is sent for review.

~Secondly, if you post a question that contains one of the words or phrases on the filter list, Yahoo's automated system picks it up and sends it for review with customer care.

Your question was sent to customer care and they decided that it was a violation.

Some questions are not removed as they have not been reported. If you see content that violates the Community Guidelines or the Terms Of Service, click on the report icon - the little flag next to the question or the answer.

The 'Community Guidelines' are rather long and detailed, you can read them here:

This system does annoy many people, there is an ongoing discussion in the Suggestion Forum about malicious reporting:

They didn't remove it; someone reported it as 'chatting' since there was no question involved. The report resulted in the Yahoo bot deleting the question.

And yes, it's annoying to have people running around reporting people for stuff like this while leaving the vile and disgusting stuff up.

I feel your pain - I had a question removed which was only a stupid brainteaser like you get in kids comics. Apparently somebody complained about it. I can't understand why they do this and let some of the abusive and downright offensive and obscene questions through. Guess the moderators are all asleep

Yes, occasionally the system can be a bit over-zealous - but as someone pointed out in a previous answer - someone must have reported your question in order to get it removed (so blame them, not Yahoo!)

I personally only think its appropriate to report things if they are blatantly offensive - otherwise I'm not quite sure why people bother.

It used to. Now I just post chat in a poorly shaped question form so the numptys who report all the time don't notice due to their low brows getting in the way.

It got removed because you posted something that was not a question, and not an answer. It was irrelevant, and so they removed it.

i can see it's not your fault check the community guidelines to see if you put anything in that could break the community guideline if not just forget about it its no hassle

Your statement falls under the overly-broad catagory of "chatting", and some folks really adhere to the rules.

    It annoys me...

I believe in freedom of speech, so I don't think anything should be removed, especially when blatantly not offensive.
