What is it called when you get a tattoo scraping off skin and leaving a scar as the tattoo?

There is also a procedure called carving where the skin is cut out leaving a "picture" of basically the underlying muscle. It's too extreme for me though!!

EDIT: never mind, I thought you meant you wanted to remove a tattoo by scraping it off your skin. I now realize you were referring to scarification, I didn't read the other answers before sry lol.

its called scarification you can also actually put metal pieces of stuff under you skin

a branding is when you take some metal symbol and get it really hot and you burn yourself and then it scabs up and then it leaves a mark- the skin smell horrible when it is being burned and sometimes they get infected

You call it painful and even more stupid looking than the tattoo in the first place.
