Could you all join me in a round of the Atheist's Prayer?

Update:

My original questions concerning the Atheist;s Prayer get reported and deleted, but the Lord's Prayer is deemed OK by the Answers Gods??

I am asking this again because, much like it's been for days now, my questions aren't actually posting to the boards IF they show the prayer. I don't even mean reported, etc. I mean, just NOT showing up. I hope this one does. All my thanks to Uncle Wayne for teaching me a new method. Yes - even our dear Wayne's questions are being deleted before they are ever sent out.

I just lost 20 points. If my goddamn prayer is going to be reported by fundies, then I think we should all start reporting the Lord's Prayer as well. This is ridiculous. There was nothing in there that violated anything. If it had to do with offending others then I shall consider myself offended by the Lord's Prayer and act accordingly. YOU tell me. Is this a reportable violation?

Update 2:

Our Father, who art in Imagination,

Fiction be thy name

Thy fundies come

And act real dumb

In Life, as well as in Answers

Give us this day our daily dose of Reality

And forgive us our Rationale

As we forgive Santa Claus & the Easter Bunny

Lead us not into Self-righteousness

But deliver us from Ignorance

For thine is the Fairy Tale, the Ancient,

And the Pretend

For ever and ever.

rAmen.

Update 3:

Yeah, I'm pissy this was deleted? What? Because I said "dumb"? Ooh. Dumb. Dumb, dumb, dumb. We're ALL dumb. Some of us are just quite obviously dumber than others.

You find this poem dumb? Tell me, instead of scooting off to the Answers gods with your tails between your legs.

Update 4:

For those of you asking who I am praying to, I am praying to all of humanity. Of course an atheist can pray! No one only needs pray to a God. Since when do Christians have the prayer market solely to themselves? Oh, and this is certainly not meant to enrage or insight or go against the sensibilities of people with no humor. The Lord's prayer CERTAINLY goes against my sensibilities, but I do not report someone for bringing it up, nor do I bother answering just to tell them how upset I am about it. I choose, like Christ would have, to ignore it and take a higher ground. And for goodness' sake, *elmjuneburke*, what is a "Momie"?

Update 5:

A super big hug and lots of cookies to my friends on here! ~~*Bakes away madly*~~ Come and get 'em!

Oh, and *hyrlady*, just what exactly does "No atheist can say the Bible contradicts itself after you've rallied to support your fellow atheist" MEAN? Seriously? I'm at a loss here. No, I find the Bible contradicts itself because I have taken the time to read it. Even if it didn't, the people who worship contradict it by failing to actually read the original texts and adding their own wording in for thousands of years. Also, it is without a doubt the most misperceived novel on the planet. When someone feels justified in something, they say it's literal. When they don't, they say it's a metaphor about reality. When they want to excuse their intolerance and hatred, they say things like "fornicator" is the same as "homosexual". I ask you, why does this happen?

I like it - it's even better if you sing it along to the version from "Godspell". I think that's where it's from - whatever it is, it ROCKS!

Believing in some thing is totally distinct from in need of it. Just on account that I think humans are ravenous in all places the sector does not make me completely satisfied approximately it. Just on account that I think that atheists are going to hell doesn't suggest I'm completely satisfied approximately it. If it's actual, what's crueler, believing in it or identifying to disregard it simply on account that it makes me suppose larger to not suppose anybody goes to hell? It does not do an atheist any favors to disregard some thing you suppose is the reality simply on account that it's disagreeable. Also, you're extraordinarily stereotyping devout humans. That's nearly as though a Christian requested "Why must I be best to an ethical-much less atheist that thinks it is ok to molest youngsters?" You're assuming that a very small (albeit loud) minority is the typical consensus. I have peers which can be atheists and I want best the satisfactory for them. I even desire that my ideals are flawed, and that they are going to have a few shot at heaven that I'm no longer mindful of. But as it's, I can best believe that God is aware of what he is doing. I've customarily determined myself puzzling over if it might be feasible to exchange my soul for theirs. Please do not expect. Just on account that anybody is devout doesn't suggest he hates atheists. That being mentioned, to reply the denotation of your query (versus your implications), the one purpose to be best to anybody who actively wishes you to endure for eternity is not to sink to his degree. "The hindrance with a watch for a watch is that all people finally ends up blind." Treating anybody like sh*t on account that they deal with you prefer sh*t will on no account increase humanity or aid whatever. But, I think that is simply my individual opinion.

  • I suspect all humans pray.

Some people insist on labelling this activity.

Some people assert "my way or the highway"

    I say:

"we don't need no steenking badges!"

That facet of the human psyche callled "urge to pray" transcends the "craving to compartmentalize".

    arrogance sometimes diminishes understanding.

there is nothing new under the sun?

I thought the Prayer was, "God, save me from your followers." ;-)

Hope you have a better day. Sounds like you ruffled some feathers.

Does your Momie know that you've been playing with the computer again ?

Wait a few more years so you don't sound so childish. Make a copy of your "prayer", and set it aside for a few years, then read it. You'll realize the difference between childishness and maturity.

I have never reported you but I am curious who you are praying to. My earlier questions about atheism indicate that there is no belief to any type of higher power. This leads to a conclusion that your 'prayer' is only intended to insult and incite. You might want to be careful praying because many of us believe someone is listening.

lead us not into self righteousness

    but deliver us from ignorance.

drop this rest and pray this part repeatedly until it sticks.
