I am confused....what is the 'conspiracy' supposed to be behind 9/11? People think we blew up our own people?

I guess I'm a bit naive but I wanted to know what facts contribute to people thinking 9/11 was staged? Am I missing something? I realize people have all sorts of wacky theories but I am assuming there are some basic criteria for them to say this. I have found many sites that go on and on about coincidences but it's all so random......

Also, I am confused about the #7 building....what happened to it and why is it so suspicious?

    Bush did it so he could start a war with Iran; #7 was destroyed so someone could make a fortune. NO plane hit the Pentagon; it was a missile or a bomb.

    Think that sums it up.

    In a word; bullshite.

    there was a programme on BBC 2 in the UK late last year about conspiracy theories about 9/11 I did not watch this programme myself. But I think it's stupid that people believe all these conspiracy theories we all saw it live on TV exactly what happened and there have been numerous documentaries until we sick to the back teeth of hearing about 9/11. I have said it before that there is no way that a US government would ever think of killing its own people. I am not sticking for Mr. Bush but he is not insane he's that arrogant enough to think that he could get away with mass murder against his own people. In 2001 you had a brand new government for 7 months their is no way that new government could orchestrate and train terrorists in time for sept 11 2001.

    Do not believe in these conspiracy theories because that takes the blame from the real culprits those evil muslims orchestrated this evil attack. Mr. Bush may not be perfect and he maybe an arrogrant a**hole bordering on ignorance but he would not commit mass murder on his own citizens.

    There are certainly some holes in the events on 9/11. I'm not here to tell you where those holes are coming from, but if the U.S. government REEEEEEEEEEALLY wanted to attack its own people, I think it could have done so flawlessly without anyone ever suspecting a thing. Because this theory has been allowed to breathe and circulate as it has (as opposed to some CIA guy killing the first person to ever think of the theory to prevent it from spreading), it mustn't be true.

    The REAL conspiracies are those that no one ever hears about.

    Conspiracy theories are, indeed, "so random". It's difficult to prove (or disprove) a "conspiracy", but there seems to be credible evidence that the 9-11 'terrorist' attacks might have included the participation (or, at least the knowledge) of our own U.S. government.

    Naysayers, of course, point to the "facts" as reported by our government. But that's precisely the issue: how can be absolutely certain those "facts" are true and accurate?

    Consider that the U.S. government has lied to its people before:

    a) We never knew about the U-2 spy planes flying over the U.S.S.R. until Khrushchev shot one down and displayed it for all the world to see;

    b) The John F. Kennedy assassination is still a favorite of conspiracy theorists - and the Warren Commission sealed all documents until 2038, when most people who were alive on November 22, 1963 will be dead and gone;

    c) The U.S. government never fully explained the events in Roswell, New Mexico in 1947, especially to the satisfaction of Roswell residents who were told to "keep quiet" and forget it ever happened;

    d) The U.S. government LIED about "weapons of mass destruction" as the reason for unconstitutionally and illegally invading Iraq;

    e) The U.S. government LIED about 'secret' CIA prisons;

    f) Even though it's designated on official government maps, the U.S. government denies the existence of "Area 51" in Nevada and protects it with armed guards;

    g) The U.S. government condoned the torture and abuse of 'detainees' in direct violation of the rules of the Geneva Convention, which the U.S. government signed and fully supports;

    h) The U.S. government LIED about the effects of Agent Orange on Vietnam War veterans;

    i) The U.S. government LIED about our ships being attacked in the Gulf of Tonkin, which got us involved in the Vietnam War;

    j) The U.S. government LIED about a third-rate burglary attempt at the Watergate Hotel until two enterprising young reporters dug out the truth.

    WHY is anyone so gullible as to believe that the U.S. government might not have had a hand in the 9-11 attacks when there is substantive evidence?

    Benjamin Franklin once said: "When the people fear the government, it is tyranny. When government fears the people, it is liberty."

    Regardless of your politics, it's imperative that you simply don't accept the government's word as "the truth". It is surely the most self-destructive path to a country wherein our freedoms and rights will slowly be taken away. -RKO-

    If it wasn't a conspiracy then why did both george and dick refuse to testify under oath to the 9/11 commission? Why did george need dick holding his hand during the entire process? That single act speaks volumes about the government in power at this moment!

    Don't worry about it. There are conspiracy theories on

    Pearl Harbor (theory that gov let it happened), Okalahoma bombing(demolition cover up theory), JFK(insider assasination theory), Katrina (theory about gov blowing up levy) and many more.

    This is stupid. Will people stop drumming up this retarded theory?!!! 3,000 people did not die just so that some idiot can claim that it was the government that blew up the twin towers. Give me a fracking break!!!!
