Do you men agree?

My mom and other older women has always told me a woman should never ask man out or propose to a man because if the woman has to do it then they guy is not really in to her. So if a guy does not ask a woman out or propose to her do you think the man is not ready to go to that level with her also do you think its ok for a woman to ask man on a date or in to marrige?

its ok for a women to ask a guy out... my girlfriend did and were still dating its been a year... for marriage... let the guy ask u... girls are usually ready before guys.... and u dont want to rush it.... once he ask you know for sure he is ready for you to be his wife!

  • I think it's ridiculous that they think a man MUST ask the girl. It's hipocracy. How can you say that a man isnt ready to commit on that level when a woman wont make the move when she's ready? Its an age old mindset that men are more inferior than women. Men are looked at as the protector, the provider, the initiator. When a girl does it it's seen as an act of desperation. I think its an act of feelings and true emotions. I believe that man and woman are equal on all levels. They should always express their feelings and thoughts to one another regardless if the other one is on the same level or not. It's always important that a couple understand one another with it comes to their thoughts. Knowing this will let the other person know how they feel and where they see the relationship in their eyes. I say do what yoou feel is right in your heart. These age old practices of relationships aren't practiced in today's world. Learn to be yourself and do what's best for the situtation. NEVER believe myths or sayings that have no references or background of history allowing you to fully understand it.

    This is the 21st century.

Yes, while to a small extent there are some "rules" about being ladylike, women have come a long way in terms of gaining independence and pushing themselves to becoming as equals.

If you do see a guy and you like him, then by all means ask him out! However, marriage is still perhaps a "traditional" thing that a guy MUST do if he wants to push the relationship to that level.

no longer a black male, yet i'm a black female so i will weigh in anyhow. I unquestionably have no longer some thing hostile to interracial relationship, yet like someone reported above, the black guy is continually relationship a white female. And if a black female is the significant personality of a teach and god forbid she's knowledgeable and efficient, she's continuously bitchy. Black female can by no potential win! on the different hand we need better black couples on television to expose that no longer all black couples are dysfunctional (unmarried figure mission) like some human beings look to trust... My mom and father are both black and performance been married for over 2 a lengthy time period. possibly then we are able to stop those stereotypes early on.

No, he is not ready for the next step if he does not ask. Sure ask a guy out, but never ask them to marry you. They know when they are ready to settle down.

Do NOT agree! This is a different day and age. It is officially "OK" for a female to ask a guy out. He may be too shy or not see signs that she is interested. As for marriage......it IS okay. (Just not as romantic!)

I just think guys are more wimpy than girls when it comes to that. Remember: the animals are more afraid of you then you are of them! But, it's hard to make a move for everyone. But, you really regret it when someone else makes the move instead.
