Windows Vista & accessories?

Going to buy a laptop, but want to add a printer, scanner, etc to it. Will Windows Vista work with printers & scanners that operate with XP or equivalent? Or should i avoid Vista all together? If so, is it possible to change an operating system from Vista to XP?

If the printer/scanner is one that you've had for a while, I'd first check the manufacturer's website to make sure that they have a Vista-compatible driver. Other than that, if you'll be adding a brand new printer to your system, all new printers on the market support Vista.

I haven't used Vista yet myself so I can't say whether to avoid it all together or not but, I haven't heard any huge complaints about it yet. As for changing the OS from Vista to XP, you would have to do a complete reformat and install of XP.
