Have you ever seen a cat with extra toes?
I found a cat with THREE dewclaws ("thumbs") on each front foot, in addition to the regular four toes. She also has dewclaws on her back feet.

It is a rear genetic trait called polydactyl and it is notharmful tot eh cat. Some Vets suggest having teh extra toes removed but there is no reason to do so. They live normal happy lives and the "mitten feet" are just an extra "cute" for the cat.
In case you are interested in more information on this condition I am adding a link for you.

Cats with 6 or 7 toes are quite common. I had a few of them growing up and have seen many more. I would think that it is due to inbreeding. In Key West the descendants of Hemingway's cats all have extra toes.

Those kitties are called polydactyl (many toes) or Hemingway cats, as it is said that Ernest Hemingway adored polydactyl cats. As a matter of fact, at Hemingway's home in Florida, several polydactyl cats are still cared for.
A doctor I once met had a cat with 22 toes!

Yes, I've seen a cat like that before. It didn't have any problems walking, and besides being a little over-endowed, it's as cute as it can be!
