Are there people that will go to your home and catch feral cats in your yard or the neighborhood?

In Indiana, it's Indy Feral. They are a TNR organization. They're great, they came and captured most of the ferals in my neighborhood, took them to be spayed/neutered, vet checked, and vaccinated, then returned them. That's better for the cats and the environment. They came back later and caught the ones that eluded them the first time. Usually some humanitarian (usually more than one!) feeds them, so they aren't a nuisance. The TNR people make sure someone is feeding them, or solicits someone to do it. Colonies usually form around someone providing food. The cats are actually performing a community service by controlling the vermin and rodent populations!

Go to your search engine and type in "feral cats" and your state. Something should pop up that will direct you to your local organization.

DO NOT call animal control. They will kill these beautiful creatures because they are unadoptable. Good luck!

Contact your local humane society or search for a rescue in your area, if I knew where you were located I could do this for you, and ask if they have a TNR program. This is Trap Neuter Release. They often provide live traps for you or you can purchase one at a farm supply store or a hunting store for cheap. Set it up following the instructions and after catching a cat call up which ever place has the TNR program and let them know you have a kitty for them. They will pick it up or have you drop it off and they will neuter it and release it again.

Depends on where you are what your local program is called. In the South it's operation Cat Nip. They set out humane traps, then take the cats to the veterinarian college, spay or neuter them and either adopt them out to new homes or release them back out where they came from. Your local Animal Shelter should be able to tell you the name of your local program and their contact numbers.
