    Go to a temp agency.

My aunt waitresses for years (20+ yrs) and just decided to go into the corporate world. She went to a temp agency and got a job right away. She had an interview with the agency (bring your resume) and they called her a few days later (sometimes that day or the next) and gave her a place to go. it was that easy. They pay by the hour and even though you are a temp there is a good chance that you'll become permanent. If you don't become permanent or you don't like it you can leave, but at least you have it on your resume and will increase your chances of getting hired in the future.

Currently I’m a college student and during breaks I temp. It’s a nice way to get good money quick.

    Good luck

Go to a careers advisor, they will give you options of the kinds of opportunities you have available in the job market, depending upon your qualifications and experience - that way you will have all the information and you can decide whether you want to improve your prospects by getting more of an education/training or make do with your already good education/experience that you have. This way you can make the best decision of what is right for you.
