What the scariest movie you have ever seen?

And how did it affect you. Mine was The Grudge.... I lived in my own apartment and after three months of at nighttime imagining that woman coming outta my wardrobe I moved in with my fella. I still dont like the dark.....

    "Saving Private Ryan."

I just don't find ghosts and goblins and supposedly supernatural phenomenon very scary. Present me with a situation that I can actually imagine happening, and I'm terrified! The scene in this film that got me most was not the big battle scenes, but the scene where they are in the little, bombed out town waiting for the tanks to come to get them. I can still hear the sound of those tanks. The first time I saw this movie, I had a nightmare that night where I was walking in a grocery store shopping for vegetables, and I could hear that creepy tank sound getting closer and closer and closer until a tank came crashing through the wall, and I woke up.

    Terrifying.

I don't think I've really ever seen a movie that really scared me. I love watching horror movies out there and there are some good ones that have made me jump (but most are way too predictable).

If I go back to my childhood, Beetlejuice and Gremlins gave me nightmares as a kid for a while. I used to believe that evil gremlins lived in my closet and that if I opened certain doors I would find giant sandworms!!

But no, I really don't get scared but I think the scrariest movies are the ones that aren't so far fetched they could actually happen.

On a side note, my fiance was scared by the grudge. He admitted that he would think he say things in the shower and would get paranoid and start looking for things. I can make the noise that kid makes and I would freak him out by doing that!!

I remember seeing The Exorcist on tv when I was a kid, and it terrified the crap out of me. Then I saw The Omen, and agian, crap-city.

Also, the original Texas Chainsaw Massacre I still have a hard time watching, as it is so grainy and low budget, it looks like you're watching a snuff film.

A Clockwork Orange is up there for me. The first 30-45 minutes are some of the most disturbing ever put on film. I had to stop it and watch the end later.

    Event Horizon

I've never really been a fan of sci-fi stuff, but I saw that movie and it freaked me out! It took the demonic possession theme from movie like The Exorcist and put it in a deep-space, we-don't-know-so-it-could-actually-happen kind of mode...

"It" by Stephen King. I saw that movie when I was six and that movie still freaks me out. (I'm 15) Also, The Leprechaun, Jason, Freddy Cougar, and Sleepy Hallow have always given me nightmares. I still can't go near a summer camp at night or look at a chainsaw.
