Absolutely! Your boss first must warn you about your use and if it continues, then you would get written up and if it still continues, then "bye-bye". But legally, you must be warned, written and if it continues, then termination. Be sure he/she gives you notice. However, if you love your job, don't risk it...not worth it. An employer pays their employees to work and not to work on personal things. I am having this problem now but the employee is excessively using, cell phone, computer and other serious offenses. Nonetheless, be sure that your boss does it the legal way because you do have recourse if he just fires you without notice. Good Luck!

Is spending 2much time in yhoo answers instead of doing their job their job? Then yes it is.

yup. they are not paying you to goof around on yahoo or any other website. think of it like this: you run a business. in order to get started, you worked your way from the bottom to the top. you have worked 80 hour weeks before to get to where you are now. and then you run into some stupid employee who is playing around on the net on company time." what would you do?

Do you enjoy meeting new people?

    Do you enjoy travelling?

Do you feel like you are smarter than the boss?

Do you think that you should be making more money than you are now?

Do you think you should be allowed to answer questions on Yahoo, on company time?

    Is your favourite colour PINK?

If you answered YES to the above questions, then please stop by the office for your final paycheck!

    Thank you,

    Management

Yikes I think it is, and that's why I worry about it every day lol could be me next!

But then again, I'd just remind my boss how she spends hours a day on Ebay on company time, and she might let it slide haha

IF they were given a warning and ignored it, yes; also, since he is the boss, he is on firm ground for that

i cant believe u have to ask that question, of course it is. I would fire any or all of my employee's if they were on here answering questions instead of working

hahaha, yea i just got into this yahoo answers thingy and there is nothing else to do at my job because they blocked all the other 'fun' websites. Just get fired if you have no other work to do.

Of course it is....read the small print of your staff handbook....and you will see comments which would cover the use of Yahoo answers!!!

In reality...we are all at least a written warning away from being worried....so carry on...just be discreet....!

Good luck...and happy answering and asking!
