i think my cat has a foot fetish?

yes, some cats are crazy about feet!!!

My poodle does the same thing.She will lick my legs and feet.I think she is just being submissive as she knows I am the boss or leader of the pack.I have three dogs and she does come in second with the pack.Strange isnt it.But cats, that is new to me.I thought cats were independent and do not have a pack.Maybe just showing affection toward her human.

If you are someone who sweats a lot from your feet it will be the sweat. Cat's like "salty" tastes, and guess what? Sweat (I hear everyone out there going "Ewwwwwww!") is a salty taste.

Like everyone else has said though, if you don't like it, tell her sternly "NO!" and move you feet....she will eventually get the hint.......if you don't mind it..........lay there and enjoy the sandpaper foot bath! Personally I find it tickles too much for me to be able to stand it.....but....*sigh* maybe that's cause usually I have 4-5 kittens having a go all at once......which can be just a tad too much to deal with!!!

I honestly do think MY cat has a foot fetish. I've had cats all my life and none until this one, came along. He doesn't like us to kiss him on his lit'l trumpet nor touch him on his face - it seems to gross him out.. But if we put our feet next to his face, he will lick away and start purring! He looks for our feet to, to lick and caress with his head - non stop!

Cats do that to feet. They jump on feet and try to claw them too. The cat will grow out of it. Till then, give her a toy to play with that will distract her.

Yeah, well, my cat likes to lay on my feet no matter where I am. If I am standing up, he lays on my feet anyway -- kinda makes it hard to walk! He also licks my toes if I am barefoot or in sandals.

The cat is doing what momma did to them while they were sleeping.....grooming. She also wants the attention. A few scratches under the chin and murmured words of affection should suffice. She has decided that you are her pet and is taking motherly care of you.

If you don't like it, you could repeatedly push her away or distract her, or give her affection in your arms. It's just a physical habit she's gotten into.

Eventually she'll get the idea that you don't like it - and she really does want to please you.

A fetish, per se, isn't always a freaky or weird thing - just a preference or habit someone gets into.

Pets don't have fetishes, only humans do. That is part of what separates us from creatures. Don't be scared, I'm sure it is just something that tastes good to your cat.

i had a cat that did the same thing its nothing terrible just buy him/her a toy or a scratching post and maybe the foot fetish will stop

I had a dog that was like that to laugh out loud. And my big lab always comes up to my mo,m and snifs her rear end, it is nasty laugh out loud, she is like mack get away laugh out loud. Plus also we can never keep this dog clean like gosh talk about a dirty dog, your talking about him. He never stays clean laugh out loud. Give him a bath, let him outside the next day to use the bathroom and right for the mud he goes he he he.
