Do you honestly think U.S.troops, are dieing for a just cause?

As a Veteran of war, I can honestly say,our troops are getting killed everyday, for no reason other than Bush's stupidity.they don't want us there, the terrorist's will always be there, and if you send them to war, let them fight. like it's a war.

Why is it that we took over the entire country in 3 days, but now we can't hold a city? Our troops are being killed by car bombs but we are not allowed to put up safe barriers because the people of Baghdad don't want them. It seems to me that we are sending our troops into a battle zone where they cannot fight. The cannot attack in many locations and have too many rules to follow. I say we should arm the troops with everything we have and send them in to FIGHT and WIN. Get this mess over and bring our troops home victorious.

I agree and disagree. If it was a draft and they were being forced to serve I wold feel differently. These guys have all had a chance to get out if they signed up right after 9/11. Army contracts last a few years at the most if I am correct, at that point you renew or run away. A lot of these guys go back time and time again, they want to fight for our freedom and the very least we can do is be proud and supportive of them. Even if you think 9/11 is an inside job or whatever, they are risking their lives for what they believe is keeping us safe, if we agree or disagree we need to be thankful for the thought behind it.

I agree with you though, let them fight this like a real war instead of a baby sitting job. Stat putting these guys on trial, convict them and start dealing out public executions to demoralize the enemy troops. They publicly hung theives in the middle ages and it kept crime down because people knew if they stole, they would be swinging in the breeze. Do the same with the terrorists, let them know if they are caught, they will pay for their acts.

As a vet I can say that I don't know - it sure does not look like it right now - but ask me again in 20 years and maybe I can give you an answer. Vietnam seemed like a very bad war when I was their but you go look at it now and think about how much of the way it is now happened because of the example of American troops being their and exposing the people to what free enterprise can do. In many ways it turns out that we "won" the Vietnam war. In the sense that out way of life won out over there's. So like I said ask me again later.

I suppose we could bring them home and wait for an attack here while standing by as our friends across the globe are attacked and overrun by the fanatical Islamist. That seems like a much better option. Or we could get serious about the whole thing and whoop some *** rather than pussy footing around waging a PC war. We never would have won WWII if we had to fight the way we do now.

you are absolutely right! This is a sad state for our men and women in uniform. We were once a military family and I know how hard it is when your loved one is shipped off. My heart aches for them. Those families are the ones really paying the price for this war. Bush is a idiot.

the question is do you,as a veteran of war,are you willing to accept that as a member of the U.S. military, you are happy with a defeat,i.e. a loss is that what any American life lost worth to you,Americans lost the lives of over 5000 men in one day during d-day to free the people of europe, even though the germans never attacked American soil, dems were willing to destroy cities, and all civilians in those cities during ww2 to save American lives, but today dems are willing to sacrifice American lives to protect their allies muslims!

Honestly ask yourself the following question.

We are dealing with people who strap bombs to kids, trying to take over the government of Iraq, which is one of the most wealthy countries (in resources) in that part of the world. What do you think they would do with the resources if they were able to control the government? Don't you think they would create a problem for the world in 5-10 years?

Yes we are there for a reason. You may never appreciate it, because hopefully the problem will be resolved before it escalates to the point where you feel personal fear.

    Look outside the bubble.

There is a 'strong' possiblity that America is at WAR with Iraq... or whomever... not to win... but to utilize its stock pile of weapons... thus to buy and invest in newer/better weapons... thus to help the domestic economy... to destroy another country... such that the country needs to be rebuilt by Americans... hence the economy will grow further.... and to become a democracy... such that they will consume products just as Americans and the rest of the developing World... which all in all... helps Americans become wealthier.

    Nothing wrong with that?

We are looking out for ourselves...

    we are creating jobs... wealth...

Unfortunately... we are losing a few lives... but...

nothing compared to the millions of lives that were lost during WW1 and WW2!!

Well I think taking democracy and freedom to a people who were bound by a brutal dictator is worthwhile. It's what we've always done. They die in vain only if we fail, which it appears we will. But keep in mind that we fail because the American people don't support the effort, and in doing so they give political cover to the politicians who agree and who can actually effect policy. So it's a choice the American people are making, it doesn't have to be this way.

Of course, because they are fighting for Freedom. Freedoms Iraq wasn't trying to take from us. Next week I will rob a bank for freedom. Financial freedom. I would be more just than Bush...
