How do I gain more definition? Also, my body mass index is 17 and I am 5'11. I want to lower it to 15.5. Any ideas on losing fat that seems to be required by the body?

Try changing your diet. That will decrease fat and get rid of any fat that may still be sitting over your abdominal muscles

a BMI of 17 tells nothing of the body composition which is exactly why the body fat percentage is optimum as it works for EVERYONE. for those that are not severely overweight or obese the BMI is meaningless and provides no usable data.
for most that have average development in the abs you need to decrease the bf % to around 10% to see the entire abdominal wall with out flexing. this is accomplished by both exercising at a high level of intensity to increase the resting metabolic rate and by cleaning up the diet and consuming mainly whole foods.

Just running alone and doing constant abdominal exercises doesnt cut it. You have to make sure your eating right and ur calorie intake is less than ur burning off. I've had a six pack all my life. You have to make sure there is no fat covering ur six pack. Everyone has a six pack underneith their fat. Just eat right and excercise and u should notice a difference. Make sure u eat lots of protein to gain muscle such as eggs and meats.

I agree, change your diet some....
How much are you running? How many time per week...
you should also let your muscles rest some....
Work your abs ever other day....let them have a bit of a rest.....
you may also have long, lean muscles.....which would make it pretty impossible to get a really strong six pack....
eat right, don't over do it.....and enjoy life:)
i just re-read your question....you DO have a six pack then?
if so i would just eat healthy and let your abs rest a bit :):p

you should cut down or cut out carbs and sugar in your diet increase your protein either by food or by protein powders. do not eat carbs after 4pm(if still in your diet). If you like your carbs then find low carb options. But increase proteins in your diet but just be careful because proteins increased in your diet can cause constipation so increase your fluid intake.
