Biblical scriptures which support War and the Military?
Im doing a Highschool term paper Comparing and contrasting the biblical views on war versus the secular views on war. I was wondering if anyone could give me some good solid scripture supporting war and the military??
Any answers would be appreciated.
Thanks!

Lk 3:14 Then some soldiers asked him (John), “And what should we do?”
He replied, “Don’t extort money and don’t accuse people falsely —be content with your pay.”

It all depends on interpretation.
As far as I can tell, the Bible neither condones nor condemns war or the the military. It just recognizes that those things exist.
If one were to take only the Old Testament, I suppose one could find support for war and the military. But taken with the New Testament, I wouldn't see any such support or condemnation.
In no place does the New Testament give instructions for government, other than within the church. It makes no moral pronouncements regarding war or the military. It only gives instructions to individuals and groups of individuals who make up the church. It is not a blueprint for a governmental system. The early church basically had no opinion on it, because the church was only concerned with individuals. There were soldiers in the NT who became Christians - no judgements were passed on them, they were not told to quit the military. All the members of the early church were instructed on to how to live as Christians, no matter what their profession happened to be.

we shall love our enemy as ourselves. as well as our neighboors. if we get hit we should turn the other cheeck. they did fight in the Bible but that was all done in old test. never said that God wanted it. does not mean God wont bless us if you do fight either. just like having more then one wife. there were a couple people who had more then one wife. does that make it right. no God frowned upon it however it was done and God still blessed them. but many bad things came to them as well. jealousy was the big thing. you cant have 2 wives without commiting adultery. and that is a huge commandment. does not mean God does not bless us or use us. but does not mean he oks it either.

Jihad was compulsory for Israel also and was more hard nature:
16 "Also you shall destroy all the peoples whom the Lord your God delivers over to you; your eyes shall have no pity on them; nor shall you serve their gods, for that will be a snare to you. (Bible: Deuteronomy 7-16)

The most obvious example would be :
Render therefore unto Caesar the things that are Caesar's; and unto God the things that are God's. -Matthew 22:21.
