Why does Yahoo! Answers remove non-offensive content?

Why does Yahoo! Answers remove non-offensive content? I've had two questions removed recently without explanation. They were NOT duplicates nor did they have any offensive content. One of the questions asked where I could find a special I saw on TLC the other night and the other was regarding help with a problem I was having on MySpace. I have answers to both now, but I would like to know why Yahoo! Answers deleted my questions before I even had a chance to pick a "Best Answer."

For further clarification, I never received any notification of the questions being removed.

Actually Yahoo Answers uses the so called Community Moderation.

How does Community Moderation work?
Community reporting empowers reliable Answers users to help us more quickly remove inappropriate questions & answers. Members of the community who reliably identify and report questions and answers will have more influence than others. If a question or answer is reported by one or more reliable users, it will be removed.

You can Appeal for that....

How do I appeal when the community removes my question or answer?
You can appeal your question or answer removal by clicking on the appeal link in your email if you believe that your question or answer was wrongfully reported by the community. The link will take you to a page where you can send an appeal to have your case reviewed. Please only appeal if you feel that your question or answer was wrongfully reported.

Because I've had questioned removed that were not offensive and were actual questions, I can only guess that the Answers Staff does not actually evaluate the questions or answers that are reported, and just remove them on the basis of a complaint.

The certainly never ever answer my queries about why a question or answer was pulled.

i hope the issues in myspace get better. ( i closed my acc. 6 months ago.)

Might be able to go to the TLC website and get the episode from there.

The new system of reporting is totally automated, so it's not necessary for a question to really be offensive, just that it was reported several times.

because people report each other for no reason and yahoo doesnt have time to go thru all the violations.
