pregnant cat?

I was wondering what are some signs that labor is going to happen. I heard that 1 week before you can see the babies moving around in her uterus, Is that true? I also heard that the belly "drops" a few days before labor. is that true>?

Update:

my last foster cat ate the placentas and had diherrah while she was nursing, what a mess. this time there will be no placenta eating.

Yes, all that is true. Also, if you have prepared a special place such as a box for her to give birth in, and you have shown her where it is, you will notice her going into the box several times a day, and "nesting". This is the process where she will rearrange the papers, or towels or whatever you have placed in the birthing area. She will do this often in the days right before birth. She may also not eat the day she is going to give birth. If you watch her closely, you will instinctively know when she is ready. When our cat had her first litter, I had no prior experience with the birthing process, but I just knew when she was ready, because you see a change in behavior.

Neither of those are true, not that I've heard of. Here are the signs I know to tell when the birth is coming:

A week or so before she's due, the fur around her nipples falls out, and you can see her teats swollen with milk. The fur falling out makes it easier for the babies to find the milk bar.

When she's got only a day or so left, she starts prowling around, looking for a dark corner to make into a nest and a safe place to have her kittens. At this point, if you want you can make her a nest box and show it to her, but don't take it personally if she doesn't use it.

My cat just had kittens 6 weeks ago and I noticed increased affection, increased eating, and if she is sitting still and u put your hand on the side of her belly, you can sometimes feel something moving. About a day or two before she went in labor, she slept a lot and acted differently. I put a big box in a corner and put pillows and blankets in it and thats where she gave birth. Make sure she is in a room with a door that can be shut to give her full privacy!

My cat has delivered 3 kittens today! she came to my pillow early morning and demanded tons of attention , she was restless and meowing all around, purring and licking ... down there!

Yesterday I notice that all her nipples where very large and pink, more than usual.

she got in to her kennel ( I got it ready with old towels) and started delivering the kittens, she is Persian and persian kittens have very large heads , so I had to help her but generally cats do not need any help, just do not let her eat too much of the placenta ( mine didn't eat any) because produces vomiting.
