Cat Fleas?
Hi. My poor sweet cat has a very bad case of fleas. I have used the Zodiac products in the past and they have worked just fine but this year nothing seems to be working. The Zodiac medicines or the collars don't help. Any suggestions?

Zodiac isn't known for being a great treatment. Flea collars are known to be completely useless - they only treat the neck area, so fleas just stay away from the neck!
Just switch to any veterinary spot-on: Frontline, Revolution or Advantage.
NB Revolution treats fleas, roundworms, ear mites and sarcoptes mites. It does not treat tapeworm.

definitely go with Revolution. this is the third month that i'm using it on all 3 of my cats (all indoor cats) & it completely got rid of any fleas & it keeps fleas from continueing to latch on (we have stray kittens that are always at our door). basically, you can either make an appointment with your vet, they'll weigh your cat, then give the proper dosage or you can let your vet know how much your cat weighs, if you know, & pick some up. it lasts for a whole month, & there's no need for additional medicines or flea collars. also, stay away from flea shampoos, as they just dry up the cats skin. regular cat shampoos do the trick (any kind of bathing does the trick to initially remove fleas); try a shampoo with with oatmeal; my cats love it & it leaves their fur smelling great & feeling super soft.

Flea collars never help. Frontline, Revolution and Advantage all have good reputations. Make sure you use a product meant for cats - not small dogs! I can not tell you how often I see cats with flea product toxicity because of a small mistake. Just to give you a fair warning to double check :-)

Try the medicine Revolution. You have to get it from your vet. Not only does it get rid of fleas, it protects against ringworms, heartworms and tapeworms as well... :)
