Id anybody else disappointed that South Carolina rejected Stephen Colbert's bid to run for president?

I guess they said he wasn't running to win and so they wouldn't even put him on the ballot. But the socially-aware gamer-geek independent in me cries. He was one of us, darn it!

I wish they put him on the ballot. Its always good to have more choices.

    South Carolina didn't reject him.

The Democratic Party of South Carolina did.

They knew he would get more votes than some of the other candidates and didn't want to be embarrassed.

And yes, I know, he would have done the same for Republicans. Maybe that's why the Republicans demand $35,000 per candidate so we don't have these idiots trying to make a mockery of the system.

"Running to win"? By that logic 75% of the current candidates shouldn't be on the ballot.

If he hadn't been running on the Democrat ticket then they would have let him run as they are a Red State. But they just goofed because he would have taken votes away from the other Democrats. Their heads were in the clouds on that one. Shows you that the GOP run state wasn't thinking on that one.

I think SC should have put him on the ballot to show they DNC has a sense of humor.

    Guess not.

He may be one of "us" but he has NO experience as a leader. However, I think they should have allowed him on the ballot regardless of their opinions of his ability to win.

No.....he's trying to use it to make a mockery of the system and it doesn't need his help...it's already a joke...piling on like he was is a personal foul!

Lettie: This was not a state decision but a DNC....this is typical of the left, they don't KNOW WHAT THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT!

His candidacy was all a joke and I am glad they rejected it before it added more lack of respect to the process.

i am very upset - if nothing else it goes against what the process is meant to represent - i thought it was a fair shot for all. not a fair shot if you've set up your life right and done steps a, b and c first. boo :(

No, he's a joke, just not a funny one.
