You aren't burning enough calories. Walking on the treadmill is a good place to start, but you need to walk for AT LEAST 30 minutes, and get your calories burned up to about 250 or so. Think about how many calories are in the food you eat, for ex. a lean cusine dinner is about 350 calories. The little bit you are walking isn't even burning off half of that. When you watch TV at night (or whenever) get on the treadmill for a show or 2. The calories will add up quickly and you won't even notice the time going by. Or, to cut down on the time spent on it, turn up the treadmill and jog for 1 minute, walk for 5, jog for another minute, walk for 3, etc. and gradually build up to running. You'll burn calories faster.

As far as diet, YOU HAVE TO EAT! If you don't eat, your body thinks something is wrong and starts to hold on to fat and weight to survive! Really frustrating when you're starving and the scale isn't moving! Try eating smaller portions, make healthy meals (lots of veges!), wait 20 minutes before you get a 2nd helping of dinner, DRINK LOTS OF WATER, and put the scale away. Weigh yourself once a week or so, but no more. Weight fluctuates 3-5 pounds from day to day (with water weight, etc.) so don't even pay attention to it. Judge your weight by how you feel and how your clothes feel. Another big thing that always works for me is to go to bed hungry. Stop eating at about 7:00 (it's really hard, I know) and go to bed early if you have to. Late night snacks really add up! I hope all this helps you! Stay with it, and give yourself time! :)

Your problem is not a big and there are ways that really works. I am stating this strongly as I have done it personally.

    1. First and foremost if you are a meat eater, slowly try to stop it. Do it gradually and not a sudden switch, because if you do, then within days you will start craving for meat and you stuff yourself and gain more wait. If you cannot eliminate meat, reduce your intake.

    2. When you wake up first thing in the morning, before brushing your teeth, drink a full glass of warm water. This helps in digestion and elimination of any stomach related issues.

    3. Gradually increase your intake of raw foods - fruits and vegetables. add 10% of raw food initially say for 1 or 2 weeks, then increase it to 25%, then to 50%. So after a couple of months your diet will have 50% raw, 50% cooked food. By raw food I mean, salads - mixture of grated carrots, steamed cauliflower, chopped spinach, mung sprouts, grapes, orange pieces, pomegranate, steamed potato, finely chopped cabbage - your imagination is the limit. Add some spices if needed to make it tasty.

    4. In a blender/mixie, add a few over night soaked, peeled almonds, some carrots, apples, banana (little), any other fruits and honey for sweetness, some water (not milk) blend it, and drink a thick shake for breakfast. If this is too little of a breakfast for you, add a slice of bread or roti or whatever. But your shake has to be the main breakfast food.

    5. Stop intake of soda/coke/pepsi etc

    6. Have a low fat yogurt instead of full fat if you take them.

    7. Avoid rice in the night. If possible replace white bread with whole grain or wheat bread. Its healthier and good for you to lose weight. Similarly if you can, try to replace white rice with brown rice. It tastes a bit different in the beginning, but it is fine. It takes a little more water and time to cook.

    8. Avoid eating out often. The oil used in the restaurants has a lot of fat and unhealthy.

Of course don't go crazy doing all these, try to do as much as you can. If you go out to someone's house its ok to eat white rice. Start and continue gradually. Its not hard at all. Just more fruits and vegetables, replacing white with whole grain or wheat bread/rice etc.

I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.

I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.

It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.

u just have to stay focused, try not eating more than 1200-1400 cal a day and try to burn most of it, walking on treadmill is a good excercise, but just 30 min is to maintain ur weight, n to loose weight u have to workout atleast for 60-90 min. try to eat atleast 3 hours b4 u go sleep. junk food is a strict no no. sleep for atleast six hours, walking instead of driving to places nearby, try to set a time table according to ur working days, set a time for ur meals, stick to low cals. when u start losing weight after two weeks u will stop seeing changes that time u'll knw that u have to increase ur excercise hours i.e instead of 60/90 min to 1 hr 20 min of walking,n other excercises that will make u sweat more, try fasting once or twice a week... try not eating more than 1200-1400 cal a day.

want to loose a ton of weight with little or no work?

    1) cut out gluten (wheat)

    2) drink lots of water every day

    3) walk for 30 mins a day

simple... and by cutting out gluten(wheat), I don't mean go on some crazy diet like atkins, it's really simple, just don't eat anything with wheat in it, trust me you'll loose a TON of weight.
