How can I curb the urge to sneeze?

I have a cold and it makes me feel like I need to sneeze often. I remember learning that you can get rid of the urge to sneeze by massaging the top part of your nose. Is there anything else that works?

My daughter-in-law says that if you look at a light and say the word WATERMELON .. then you won't want to sneeze anymore. It actually does work! (Power of suggestion at work, I think!)

this may sound very, very silly HOWEVER, it WORKS!!! if you say cucumber, cucumber, cucumber (3 times) before you or someone is about to sneeze...they actually don't sneeze...I don't know why, but it seems to work......
