Have you been proved wrong?
When was the last time something or someone in the NFL proved you completely wrong?
Did you say Ryan Leaf was going to be MVP?
Were you totally against a coaching change that ended up being great for your team?
Did you hate a player your team drafted who wound up being their star?
Did you think someone was over or under rated that turned out to be completely the opposite?
Forgive my poor grammar in the wording of my initial question. I believe that I am still asleep...

My most recent oversight was Brandon Jacobs, RB-NYG.
With Tiki retiring at the end of last year, I honestly did not think Jacobs could carry the load as a #1 back. He still has things to work on (namely pass catching and staying healthy), but he has been an absolute beast striking fear into safeties and corners who have to try to tackle a 6'4 260 lb machine. I'm very happy to have been wrong about him.

I still think Ryan Leaf will win an MVP.
Seriously, though, I remember bad-mouthing Tom Brady back when he was at Michigan. I never thought he'd be even a starter in the NFL, never mind a guy who will likely now go down as an all-time great. In my defense, though, I'm guessing that there were others who felt the same way (which probably explains why he was drafted on the second day).

Yes...I thought that when the Buffalo Bills picked up Drew Bledsoe in 2002, he was going to turn the Bills into a top tier team. He had some great stats while playing with the Bills, but I just don't think he ever fully recovered (mentally as well as physically) from that hit that Mo Lewis put on him.

As a Saints fan, I thought that Ricky Williams would be the savior of the Saints. A few draft picks and several bong hits later he turned out to be a flop. A couple of years later, it was the great Reggie Bush that was supposed to turn the abysmal Saints into a perennial contender. He started out strong but soon opposing defenses realized he was weak as pond water and all that you had to do was contain him on the outside. I was wrong about both of these over-hyped shitheads.

A couple times. As a Lions fan I believed that Joey Harrington was going to be great. (might have been if the Lions hadn't ruined him)
I remember a few years ago some buddies and I were laughing when the lions look LB Ernie Sims with the 6th (I think) pick of the draft. We were like "Who the $@#& is Ernie Sims!!?!?!?! Now he appears to be the best player on the defensive side for the lions.

I thought McCarthy was going to be a flop as a coach for the Packers.
I thought the Packers would be lucky to win 6 games this year, too.
But even with 2 wins, I would still be a fan - just an unhappy one

Ya I remember how upset I was when the Colts lets Marshall Faulk go. Then I went through the same thing when they didn't resign Edgerrin James. Maybe I should just stop questioning Bill Polian. The dude is a whole lot smarter than I am! lol

Just this season. When those blasted Miami Dolphins messed up my chances of seeing an undefeated team and a winless team in the same year.
Why would they mess up a chance to be the only team to experience both ends of the spectrum? Undefeated in '72 and winless in '07. Those selfish punks!

I thought J.P.Losman would be the best QB in his Class(that'd be better than Eli, Rivers, and Big Ben)
I thought the Vikings were fools to let Mike Williams pass them by
I thought the coming of Herschell Walker was going to finally bring a ring to Minnesota(though at the time even I knew we were giving to much for him)

I said that Randy Moss might not have a huge impact on the Patriots because they spread the ball around a lot, and that he might actually negatively affect them because the rest of the team was kind of grumpy and he's a guy who feeds off of bad vibes.
I also said the Colts would finish second in their division. BUT to be fair, if the refs hadn't given them that game over the Jags, I would have been right.
