Overall I trust Congress although for some time, during the Republican lead Congress and matching Administration, I did not trust the majority of the legislation/decisions. I think most Congressional members are looking out for the best interests of their constituents however I also feel that there are those who dance to the drumbeat of their most significant (and generous) supporters. People generally go to government with the intention to change it for the better but sometimes, because of broken elements of the institution (lack of proper campaign finance regulation, greater control of lobbyist engagement rules, consistent and robust oversight, lack of transparency) those people who go to serve us with the best intentions end up serving their own. Unfortunately sometimes these intentions conflict.

No, I'd like anyone that does to give me one good decision they've made as a reason to trust them. The founders of this country limited the power of government for that very reason politicians cannot be trusted.

I'd trust the devil himself before I put any trust in our congress to do the right thing for the people.

I trust Congress. Our government has built one of the most dominant forces ever to exist on earth. Moreover, if they don't make good policy, they will not be re-elected. So, in a sense, their jobs depend on making good policy. I think that motivation is enough to do what needs to be done. Why is everybody hatin' so much?
