Engine running rough - 2001 Kia Optima?

Can anyone help me understand what happened? I filled my gas tank (from 1/4 full) the other day but the pump didn't shut off when the tank was full, and ended up overflowing. Now my engine is running really rough. Could it be because the tank was overfilled? Or could there be water in the gas? I added a bottle of Gas Line antifreeze to try drying up the water, and ran the engine for a while and while idling, it seemed to smooth out. I took it out on the road today but it is still very rough on acceleration. Any help or insight you could give in your answer would be greatly appreciated....thanks in advance. I just don't want to bring it to a mechanic if it is something I can correct here at home. Please keep in mind that I'm not automotive-savvy. Thank you.

Obviously the check engine light is on if it's running rough, I doubt the gas had anything to do with it, just a coincidence. I would take it to a reputable repair facility and have a professional diagnose the problem an give you an estimate.

Adding gas line anti-freeze is never the thing to do. It can melt rubber components if it has methanol in it. Just add a bottle of Gum-out to the tank. If you are really lucky, you have purchased a bad batch of gas. go back to where you bought it and ask if anyone else has complained about poor running. If you have no check engine light on, then you may have a damaged fuel pressure regulator. Have a pro check it out, it should cost nothing.

run it for a couple of days to lower the level it could be a venting problem or dirt in the fuel filter
