At what point did you make the switch to maternity clothes?

I'm thirteen weeks pregnant and can only fit into three pairs of my normal jeans. I've always worn tight clothes. At what point in your pregnancy did you find that you had nothing left to wear? Did you swap to maternity jeans as soon as you couldn't get into your regular clothes or did you start wearing regular pants made out of a stretchier material?

WIth my first baby (he is 2 now) I switched at 6 months. With the second pregnancy now (their twin boys) I had to switch at 8 weeks.

Depends on how your body is growing. Don't be self conscious if you need it now, not everybody grows the same way. My best friend didn't get into maternity until she was almost 8 months. I got jealous because I felt "fat"; however, when we both got done with our pregnancies I was able to go back into my size 0 and 1 while she is still struggling to fit into anything (it's been almost 3 years now). I'm not saying that being skinny is the way to go, it's just your body type and how you carry your babies. You would think I stayed small, but I didn't even when I tried. I carry big...........I gained 70lbs with my first child. It seemed as if I would stay that big, but it depends on you specifically. Make your swap, you'll feel so pretty and happy with the comfort, trust me. Plus, maternity clothes are so stylish these days that they fit everybody's fashion style. Go crazy, I'm sure you'll look gorgeous : )

Now I'm pregnant with twins and have gained about 55lbs. Not worried about it a bit, pregnancy is not the time to worry about this (even if they tell you different). You'll have plenty of time to work it off.

I waited till around 18 weeks. I could still wear some of my regular shirts but the pants were not closing! Maternity jeans are the most comfortable pants in the world!

I have a few friends though who didn't switch over for a long time, the would just do up their jeans under their belly.

I'm only 7 weeks and already bought maternity pants. They're a little loose still, but my jeans are starting to get uncomfortable around the waist and the maternity pants just feel way better. I like that they're still a little loose because I'll be able to wear them for a while. I can still wear my regular shirts though. You can't even tell I'm pregnant yet just by looking at me.

I had a couple of maternity shirts, just because they are longer and covered my tummy, but I wore the same jeans the whole time (the low rise ones go right below the baby and I found that to be pretty comfy...cuz I really hate the maternity pants with the streatchy band). But if you are uncomfortable now, you should definetly start wearing something else.

I think I was close to 16 weeks when I finally bought a pair of maternity jeans, and I was SO thankful. They have things called "Belly bands" you can buy at stores like Motherhood Maternity that allow you to wear your pre-pregnancy clothing for longer. If you don't want to buy maternity jeans just yet try those.

I started wearing maternity pants at 14 weeks. I still wear my regular tops but just now started getting maternity tops (i'm 19 weeks). In the beginning, I was just wearing my "fat " clothes when my regualr stuff got too tight, then when those didn't work I started getting maternity stuff.. good luck

As soon as I found out I was pregnant my mom went and bought me a wardrobe of maternity clothes, but actually they weren't maternity they were stretchy pants and shirts that looked maternity but they weren't that was just the style. I started wearing them at about 10 weeks (because they were all new!)

As soon as my regular clothes were getting snug, I switched over to maternity. I didn't want to stretch my regular clothes. There are a few regular shirts that I wore even when I got my big belly, and now they are all stretched out and look ridiculous. I ruined a perfectly good shirt.

I dont like many maternity clothes exept mabey a few shirts, I just went up bigger pants sizes and when that gets uncomfortable i went to sweats. the half belly maternity pants just seemed uncomfortable to me with the baby already puttin pressure there.
