it depends. i would contact the person who came and got the dog. are you under 18? it's tricky. but did your mom know you were taking the dog with you? did she know you were having to give the dog away? if she has proof of ownership, such as a microchip, vet records, etc...then she can say she didn't give her permission for her pet to be adopted out. it also will depend on how long you've been with your grandpa. but i would start with just having her mom calmly call the person that has the dog and explain the situation. they may legally be able to keep the dog, but calmly explaining things to them is going to probably get you a lot further.

You can't legally get him back, but if your mother calls the people and explains the situation they might give him back. I took a dog in once from the Humane society. I had him for a couple of weeks and that probably saved his life until his owner could find him. Then the owner finally called the Humane Society because the dog had been lost and she was an elderly woman and had been ill. She wanted him back. Of course, I gave him back to her. Any kind person would do the same, and I am sure if the people who have your dog knew about the situation they would bring him back to you as well. Good Luck.

Go back to your mom, but no, nothing can be done now about the dog. You could call the folks and explain the situation, but unless they just give the dog back, you have no legal rights to it. Might say if it doesnt work out, you wanted to be sure they let you know, cuz you are back in a position to care for him, etc....
Hope this helps,

No, but you can name a price. I sold a puppy last year to a guy, I didn't like the way he was caring for her, he didn't want to give her back, so I made an offer.
EDIT: The kid is asking a question, no need to bring up the age requirements for Yahoo. Geeez.......Get a life.

No. Possession has changed hands. Sorry, but unless the person you gave the dog to is willing to give you the dog back, it might not happen.

Probably not since you put the ad in the paper to give him away in the first place..

How old are you? You know you have to be 13 to ask and answer questions on YA. You could try and call the people who took your dog and explain the situation but I doubt very much you will get him back.

No, but I would ask. Depending on who got her, they may be willing to give her back. I would.
