Well obviously you don't need to lose weight, but whatever.
Anyway, they can, but you have to choose the right one. The caffeine and "speedy" ingredients in these drinks can raise your metabolism, but you also should find one low in sugar so you're not adding to your caloric intake.

There is this "energy drink" weight loss concoction called Redline. It basically makes you lose weight by making your muscles spasm and shake for hours on end. It's really not a pleasant experience, but there you go, an energy drink that makes you lose weight.
Although I don't think it's very safe >_<
I'd just stick with diet and exercise if I were you!

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.
1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.
2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
3) Walking is very good. You must walk as much as you can. Walk everywhere you can. Use of elevators and escalators must be reduced and instead of these you must climb stairs more often.
These are some of the fastest ways to lose weight. By just following the simple steps, you can lose your weight very quickly. You must consult your doctor if want to change your diet or exercise routine.

Yes, it works (at least for me). I've try it with low carb - low sugar - no bread, no corn, no soy, diet and lost 90 lbs in 6 months (with 4 monster zero sugar cans a day) below is my diet pattern - I also did it with a light workout mainly fast walking around 45 min per day - Here is my diet pattern:
1- Can #1 right when I wake up
2 - Low-Carb meal#1 (no calories counting feeling more or less full) between 11:00am and 1:00 pm
3 - Can #2 between 2:00pm and 4:00pm (Or when I feel hungry)
4 - Low-Carb meal#2 (no calories counting feeling more or less full) between 5:00pm and 7:00pm
5- Can #3 when I feel hungry after dinner
6 - Can #4 right before I go to sleep
PS - This worked for me, not sure if it will work for others and I am not sure if it is a healthy choice as I am not a physician or a person who can assess this

I drink a sugar free red bull every morning about 30 min before i work out so that i have more energy and can add more to my workout...i recommend drinking them, they are great for energy, but as far as just sitting around drinking energy drinks and hoping to shed pounds...i wouldn't recommend that. Energy drinks are not designed to help you lose weight; they are designed to give you energy (hence the name)

Energy drinks can help increase your metabolism, because it will make your heart beat faster. Also, energy drinks can serve as an appetite suppressant. But to ensure weight loss, you have to make sure you are consuming sugar-free energy drinks.
And make sure you do not go overboard. Limit yourself to about one can per day, best as a meal replacement during lunch time.
If you want to lose 10 pounds quickly, make sure to only consume 1200 calories a day and drink a lot of water. You will accomplish your goal in about 2 weeks :)
