I fell on the outer top of my ankle, is this normal? What should I do?
I was doing laundry and forgot the bottom step. I fell forward on the outer top of my ankle on to cement. The top and the out side of my ankle are now bruised. I still have a goose shaped squishy lump on the area I fell on. Most of the swelling has went away but it still hurts alot and it tingles at times with times it feels numb. I'm still having diffaculties walking or standing on it. I fell on Feb.10th. I can move my ankle so I don't believe it is broken.

if it hurt when u touched it, or try to move it the way u woulld normally do, then its only a minor injury, i dont think its broken, if it were broken the lump where you'r ankle is would be hard and you would feel the bone.

This is normal for a sprain. Most people think sprains are nothing until they get one.
For me 2 weeks usually for swelling and bruising to go away but the pain lingers longer. It can take up to 4-6 weeks for your ankle to heal. But if you still have severe pain and can not walk or stand after 2 weeks you should think about an x-ray . My mother fell on the steps and we thought it was just sprained but when an x-ray was taken there was a fracture and she could move her ankle.
