Health care professionals what do you think??? I have gained 10 pounds... I now weigh 131?
I am 41 y.o. and 5' 3" This is very strange for me... I am very consistent with my weight and I have not done a thing different... I really am perplexed!!! It came on so fast I did not even get a chance to get a handle on it... I am not a big eater (I never have been) If I eat less I would starve... What is going on??? Any thoughts??? Thyroid... middle age... hormones... ???

as you get older your metabolism naturally slows down, so you dont burn as much calories as you did before...

well every year after the age of forty your metabolism slows down by about 5%, so this could be a factor. Thyroids can also be a factor. Also, how often do you exercise? Talk to your doctor, and if he says your thyroids are fine, just try to eliminate **** from your diet and increase your daily exercise routine. BUT TALK TO YOUR DOCTOR FIRST!

it could definitely be from hormones and your metabolism slowing as you age. maybe try working out more (15 minutes a day extra should help), and try replacing fattier foods with healthy ones (fruits and vegetables are best, especially since they fill you up, and grape fruit would be good because it is supposed to increase your metabolism).
