Any ideas on a good Bible Study?

I want to do a Bible Study with my sister-in-law but it has to be something kind of short as she is sick a lot and I want to be able to cover two weeks if necassary and something easy to catch up on if she misses a couple days. But I don't want it to be a feel good devotion but rather have a little bit of depth to it. Her husband is over in Iraq, she has had several miscarriages, she is sick and jobless so she has lots of time on her hand but no energy to do anything.

Update:

royal ra.cer - she is not 4 years old and I am not her nurse. I am looking for a book with questions in it to guide us through whatever. An actual BIBLE STUDY

Update 2:

Would you guys stop trying to change my plans. She has already agreed to do the study and I am giving her love and support. You don't have the entire story but there are plenty of reason for me not to leave it at just that.

BTW I go to a Baptist church and am a christian.

"Following God in Tough Times" would be a very good study for the both of you to go through.

    The eight sessions are;

    1. Imprisoned by Circumstances

    2. Accepting the Tough Times

    3. Dealing with Doubt

    4. Putting Faith into Practice

    5. Living with Limitations

    6. His Ways, Our Ways

    7. Helping Others Who Hurt

    8. Moving from Survival to Service

Here is the link to the study: http://www.christianbook.com/Christian/Books/produ...

I am also a Christian, Baptist. I started this study and couldn't stop until session 7.

I am currently in a Bible Study, about the life of Mary and Martha in the Gospel of John. It is based in a book called, "Having a Mary Heart in a Martha World", by Joanna Weaver.

The book itself is an excellent read, but in the back it has questions for each chapter which lead you into further depth in Scripture.

Some of the chapters which you and your sister-in-law may really enjoy...

    Lord, Don't You Care?

    The Diagnosis; The Cure

    Living Room Intimacy

    Kitchen Service

    The Better Part

    Lessons from Lazarus

    Martha's Teachable Heart

    Mary's Extravagant Love

    Balancing Work and Worship

    Linnea,

There are several good studies that could be used. I suggest that you set the study up near her home and set some time in your schedule so that you can work one-on-one with her when she is unable to attend. I have done some studies from materials that I have borrowed and created on my own at times. I would be glad to share if/when you are interested. Have a great study with her! Family members are very precious. It is good that you care so much about her eternal salvation.

    Thank You,

    Eds

    EDIT:

There are many GREAT IDEAS here!!

Mine would have to be attached to an email at present. They are saved as WORD Documents.

Jesus' sermon on the mount. Matt chapt 5. & on through chapt.8

And if you prepare you can also cross reference the other gospel writers such as Mark & Luke with that of Matthew to show the similarities of the same verse for example where Matthew wrote his sermon on the mount incontrast to Mark who account was shorter but filled with a little more obvious detail & too the point.

    Just a thought.

Then gIVE HER THE QUICK STORY OF jESUS CRUCIFIED (OOPs)

Acts 2.36,37 and hopefully she'll ask the same question.

Source(s): and your reply should be Rm 10.17 ...be a hearer Jn 20.30...Believer Lk 13. 13-5...repenter Rm 10.9 ...confess Jesus is the Son of God Back to Acts 2.38...be baptized Rev 2.10... be faithfull till the end I'll be praying with you... Rm 16.16

A good way to study the Bible is with a catechism. The Heidelberg and the Westminster catechisms are very good and I'm sure are available on line.

The Heidelberg is made up of 52 Lords days to use it for a year.

" Into His Marvelous Light" is very short. You could just do a page a day, if necessary.See upci.org to get a copy.I say that since I have no idea who/where you are.God Bless!! Good Luck!

    Perseverance.

God's promises not to give us more than we can handle.

Maybe you should really just give her love right now, she must be going through a lot emotionally. Support her and just talk to her.

The link is on Bible verses on Perseverance.

EDIT: Maybe you should calm down abit before approaching her.

Source(s): When you are tired and discouraged from fruitless efforts... God knows how hard you have tried. When you've cried so long and your heart is in anguish... God has counted your tears. If you feel that your life is on hold and time has passed you by... God is waiting with you. When you're lonely and your friends are too busy even for a phone call... God is by your side. When you think you've tried everything and don't know where to turn... God has a solution. When nothing makes sense and you are confused or frustrated... God has the answer. If suddenly your outlook is brighter and you find traces of hope... God has whispered to you. When things are going well and you have much to be thankful for... God has blessed you. When something joyful happens and you are filled with awe... God has smiled upon you. When you have a purpose to fulfill and a dream to follow... God has opened your eyes and called you by name. Remember that wherever you are or whatever you are facing...GOD KNOWS
