why arent lions related to dogs?

i know that they are part of a cat family but the look like dogs so much

    Lions and dogs are way different species! Look at their paws. Look at the way dogs/cats crap...cats cover it up.

    well .. they dont look like dogs .. they actually looks more feline .. but they dont relate in any way..only wolfs relate to dogs. . lol
