How do I stop my cats from peeing on my clean laundry?
Ok I have seen alot of good suggestions for cats that pee all over the house, and some of them seem like Great suggestions that I will definitely try (like someone suggested putting small bowls of kibble around the spots they frequent) but the problem I have is with laundry, my 16 year old helps with the laundry,(because my husband and I work opposite shifts, and have 4 kids folding laundry isnt always the priority) , and as such he will leave a basket of laundry on the main level for days until someone else folds it, by that time it usually needs to be rewashed!! also if my 5 year old leaves her Jacket on the floor or a jacket falls off a hanger in my closet, the cats will pee on it, they are particularly attracted to the kids jackets, and school bags, is there anything I can do to make them stop? There are too many conflicting opinions on discipline and behaviour correction I dont know whats right and whats wrong... also I have two male cats and dont know which one is peeing ...
*** No UTI's and box gets sifted every day (both of them) and fully changed once a week.

I have absolutely no suggestions for you.
We had a 10 year old female that did this for 6 years of her life, if something material was on the floor she would pee. We took her to the vet to make sure she was medically ok and everything was fine. She even got to the point where she would do it right in front of us Grrr.
Try to teach the kids to pick the clothing up and place it somewhere he can not get to.
I am sure it is a behaviour that they can be trained out of but i do not know how as we tried just about everything.
Goodluck

Sometimes when cats pee in other places than the litter box it means that they are sick. I would make an appointment for both of them at the vets. Second, if they are not ill, then you have to think about what changes have been made recently? Brand of litter...did someone move in or out of the house recently. When they pee on the laundry in the basket...is it everyone's laundry or does the majority of it belong to one person. Since your daughter's jacket has urinated on, it makes me wonder if she had pet any other cats or dogs and then brought the jacket home. But my best guess is that one of them is sick and so I think your first stop should be the vets. Good luck.

Last year my beautiful Manx cat Theodore went out for the evening and never came back. I love cats and the house didn't feel the same without one, so I picked up Lola from a rescue centre. She was very frightened and would pee all over the house. I found Cat Spraying No More on the internet and the techniques worked almost immediately. I haven't had a problem with Lola since. Amazing!
Can't stop your cat peeing in the house? Then worry no more...

A friend had the same problem with square baskets..Same shape as the litter box? But there was another thing that I noticed ..She said that the cat would pee on plastic Walmart bags, on the stove, Mr. coffee pot, plastic lawn furniture and a few other things that got hit and can't remember what they wre..oh one was a vinyl windbreaker..They all had something in common..PVC type plastic,,Man made..The back of the stove plastic knobs, the clothes basket, coat and plastic zipper etc..????????????? I am wonder what that material all consists of and what it emits to make a cat want to pee on it? My guess is ammonia or something close to it that resembles their ammonia urine..We can't smell it but they can..Its a guess, but it all seems weird..Never use ammonia in a house with a cat, including windex with ammonia D it resembles cat urine to them..My friend used scat matts and a boundry repellent spray on counter, made sure the coats where hung and put the baskets in a closed spare bedroom off limits to the cat....I would make it mandatory to have the laundry put away as soon as it comes out of the dryer or at least put it behind a closed door..If not make the person that put the basket out for the cat to rewash it and fold it pronto..Kids coats could have been hung next to other kids coats that have cats or vinyl again? Cat will mark it..Hopefully the cats are fixed....Don't hit the cat if you find out who it is....He won't even know what he did, and get mad at you and do it again..Buy a scatt matt and put it on top of the laundry, it will shock him slightly..put hooks on the inside of coat closet door for the kids coats and bags..Break the habit as soon as possible!

1. If it's not fixed, get it fixed.
2. Clean the litterbox every day.
3. Never leave anything lying on the floor, ever.
4. Keep doors closed to rooms you don't want the cat peeing in. You will also be able to keep a better eye on it.
5. If it continues see a vet as your cat could have kidney or bladder problems.

Buy some of that cat and dog repellent stuff, it works. This is a learned behaviour that has become a habit, so it will be difficult to break. I train my cats out of things with a squirty bottle of water, but it sounds like you are not there to do that.
What is it about cats that their pee and business smells so foul? My sympathy to you, but it's part and parcel of having cats, and if you are not there to watch them, maybe they need a new home.

you could just put the laundry basket out of reach of the cats. thats one suggstion. also if they haven't been spayed or neautured then they pee all over the house if they don't have a mate. so maybe you could get them neutured. also maybe you haven't changed their litter box enough.

In my experience with about 20+ cats, there's zero chance of reforming a chronic pee-er.
It's out the door.

well, this is easy.........................
put away the clothes, have the kids hang their coats, make sure your stuff is 'still hanging' and clean the litter box regularly. Cats hate dirty boxes...........hate it hate it hate it.
Clean it clean it clean it..............
I know for sure.............if their litter box is nasty..........they will make sure that they will make your clothes nasty.
Don't fill the litter box full of cat litter...........it is nasty.
Just use enough litter to have the cats use it for a few days and clean it........throw away the dirty litter and put new clean litter in their box.
Some people fill the box with litter and expect the cats to use it for weeks as they take out some poop out of it.
I suggest....small amount...clean the box after you throw out the used litter.........again put small amount, let them use it for a few days, throw out litter and wash the box and again.....
